Depending on what budget you are hoping to adhere to but I can recommend getting the barrell tuned / ported by Fahron tuning (Google it for number) Use Rex Caunts piston to bore to 186cc also. Ron at Fahron is always busy don't expect a fast turn round.

I started with a Reflex, TLR forks were hard to come by so I used Gas Gas 38mm Paiolis inc yokes etc. A bit of a rigmarole but it works okay. Only downside is the Twinshock trials championship don't like it so if I do their event it's a ride out for no award, I wouldn't be in the running for an award anyway so not a bother.

Yes, will be at Bedlam this weekend.

Same club are running a Miller round soon, is it a similar day, if a shorter lap ?????
-
Yes Jon my thoughts exactly, they enjoy the in between tracks as well as a day out as one rider said to me he had been laning round Gloucestershire for years, it was good to do the event as it was different. He was on a late 70s trail bike . Trouble is the enduro bikes must make up the numbers as classic scene has been struggling in as far as next to no new blood coming in, especially the Brits. We got caught in a bad storm and missed some sections at the end but it was my first road trial and I enjoyed the day. Thanks to GVCMCC for a good day out .

Simon, I am using a C15 distributor engine, just sorting it at present.
-
There is a replica on ebay.

I had issues with a 200 a while ago, firstly how old is your cdi? I changed both coils (there is an upgrade) and then fitted an OKO , it was a worthwhile upgrade, started and ran like a watch and performed well.
-
Charlie, yes of course I refer to bronze welding.
Simon, no offence taken , the replicas are what they are.(Not a Mike Mills frame) The jig for my frame was taken from one of the last genuine frames. I have lost count of how many jigs are about.
-
There are replicas out there, with jigs taken from genuine articles, there are also modified replicas I believe. Some of the best frames in the world are brazed. Harris, Spondon, Bimota as well as Alan Whittons and many more. Any brazed frame which will carry oil needs pressure testing.

We at Herefordshire Classic trials club run a/c mono class. The new twinshock trials series run in various locations around the UK also runs a/c mono class. It has been a forgotten class in some areas but with some of the bikes being amongst the most affordable air cooled bikes it should flourish in the future .

1. You don't need an AMCA licence. TMX or your local ACU page or AMCA page will be your best bet to find out about events. Cost to enter a trial should never be over £15. We charge £12, clubs do not need to make much over the year. Your best bet would be to find your local club , get involved , maybe observe and get to know them. You can learn a lot from just observing and talking to people.
-
When we asked for some they had stopped doing them, you would think they would give them out to bona fide clubs, all advertising etc. We ended up with this...

Cut it in to arrows.

I used 10.40 old school silkolene

We run an AMCA club , if the club are happy for you to turn up and ride then carry on, no one day licences or any licences needed. After the trial the insurance premium is paid per rider, insurance is also paid for observers and even setting out. There is an AMCA licence that allows slightly cheaper entry prices if you want but we don't bother taking info because it's not worth it, more so for scrambling I think.
-
Honda TLR 200, I entered last year but didn't ride due to injured shoulder.
-
You only need to join the club to get an ACU licence unless of course you want to get involved with club activity re helping to run events or observing etc. I am a member of SSMCC but am in Hereford.
-
Just entered the 2015 event
-
I have a replica frame, engine being sorted . May get more made if any genuine interest.

I just bought a 125 4 stroke and need a rear mudguard. Apparently they are not available in white only in later grey, maybe the same applies to 250 parts ?? Looks like when they were taken over a few years ago some early parts were not re made ??
-
For my 2p worth I'd say an acquired taste? Don't see many out there, I believe they may be a bit long wheel base compared to some and some spares may be hard to find. Certainly a bullet proof motor, which is the TS 250 and has been used in all bike sports inc road racing. I remember them new in a shop, they had a 250 and a 325 with a chair fitted.
-
The Scorpa in the link seems about right price. A grand gets you in a/c mono territory I'd say, you may get a back kick 200 Fantic for the same but they are rising in value. A/c monos are the last affordable a/c trials bike, grab one while you can, they won't be cheap for long.
