Umm, interesting problem. I agree that riding under heavy tree cover can lead to choking on exhaust fumes. I'm not sure whether any face masks will help. I suppose you could try and find a bulletin board for dispatch riders, either motorbikes or bicycles, for help.

Sod 'em. They already put up with me riding +- 1/2hr a day in the field! Nah seriously, there's an off-road park at Melkbos, opposite the Nuke power station who wants us to put up some trials sections. The place is as flat as a pancake so they'll have to be artificial. Nice sandy enduro tracks though.

You might find a company near you that will do it for you. I was surprised to find such a company about 18 months ago. Cheap too.
