  1. You need to find a trials dealer. Main stream motorcycle shops and the distributors that support them usually have no idea about trials unless someone there rides. You might get more response if you state your location. https://secure.rypusa.com/prodpage.cfm?cat_selected=188&product_selected=535&startrow=1
  2. Hate to say gravity always works for the lighter rider as long as you are saying same skill. Up,down or in circles. Take a look at all the good up and coming riders. Light as a feather and they fly up a rock.
  3. Never said that was one bike or several. Just said they don`t last forever. Thinking about it, you boys don`t even have sand. Rarely do you ride in a cloud of dust, We seldom ride when it`s wet. Myself, I cannot remember the last cylinder I bought on a trials bike. Never in 42 years. At least on my personal bike! But I have blown up a few other Honda`s!
  4. Renthal grips are great, but if you have a problem with too much grip no. Soft grips will tear your hands apart. I had very calloused hands and always gripped till I bled.
  5. Domino original trials grips, not the new style. http://www.tryalsshop.com/#!/Domino-Trials-Grips-Black/p/358972/category=162633
  6. You will have to excuse Brewtus, his mind is a little warped. He set this canyon last year for our vintage Experts. (He`s a committed Honda/Montesa nut.)
  7. The first one is a proper zap. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdwNZdNJtUw&feature=player_embedded
  8. A small damp spot is not much concern. Ask anybody that rode Betas for years. And yes checking the float valve at some point is good. Also checking proper float adjustment is just good wrenching.
  9. The Japanese seem to be quite in tune mechanical wise to the bikes needs. I`ve seen loads of stuff I wished I knew what they were talking about. An example is they had shims for slave cylinder adjustment.
  10. I also said Honda lovers never lie. I`ll have to bring a photo I guess.
  11. The Jap Zap requires some commitment. It is not needed unless the ledge is undercut and too tall for a double blip. ( anything most riders ride does not need anything but balls and momentum) The Zap is a upper level type of obstacle. The idea is to hit the front tire and collapse both the front and rear suspension and at the same time use the clutch to cause a sudden burst to explode up. This seems the same as other techniques, but you drop the front tire lower than you ever thought possible. So the outcome is a great lift or a nut crusher.
  12. I`ll spot you on that rock this weekend! We`ll see where that fat ass lands! (I`ll even bring the Tecate.)
  13. Just don`t put the filter in backwards.
  14. I said not as long as posted. They last way longer than Honda recommends. Read the manual for your self. Got a pile of 4 RT top ends. http://www.overlandtrail.biz/Manual%20Montesa%204RT%2005.pdf
  15. http://www.trialspartsusa.com/ is the parts importer from day one. The `95 is a great bike, but the early ones had potential to have bad cases. I would look into what month it was made and contact a dealer or importer. The early bikes tried water cooling the center cases. I would ride the bike till the fan worked or not buy it.
  16. The 4RT are very fun to ride (Though on the heavy side). If you do not plan on hopping much and just want a carefree ride. The top-ends do not last as long as the posters say. But it all depends on care. Buy a clean one with low hours, not a clean well used one. You are on a Montesa forum and the Honda lovers never lie. Check out what Honda says about maintenance intervals.
  17. It`s supposed to be centered. I do not recall the older bikes using hex heads, but all the pictures the bikes have the disc guards on. Maybe need to find another to have a good look at.
  18. Take a look at its physical appearance. It`s not flat like a trials tire. Which means less traction and they can rub easily as the knobs stick out at a strange angle.
  19. Watch this whole clip. This little Gal has more skills than most today. From the Joan Crawford show 1965. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VQBbHzypBro
  20. You actually need the titanium header pipe also.
  21. Click on the Sherco forum and try the pinned link.
  22. Just connect to your car or a charger.
  23. Sharply with the clutch pulled in or just trying to give this beast too much too fast.
