Nice looking `97 Ben. I loved mine when new. Great fix for the slop. But all the Techno`s had a rear brake that was on or off. The Beta did not have a good rear brake until the rev 3 came along. Glad you have it working better. Have fun with it.
-
I like the bike, but that ugly wavy Beta sticker across the bare frame is terrible. Either make a plastic frame guard, or leave the sticker off!

A pro only takes 350 cc of oil. How much did you use?
-
Just skip it all. Take off the mag cover and grab the flywheel. Maybe the mains are shot in the first place. The crank bouncing in the mains create many problems.
-
More than likely, too much oil.
-
Just pull off the water pump cover.
-
If you did not drill the pilot out, then everything should be fine. You can look through the pilot when the slide is out. If blocked run a wire from a wire brush to clear. Sounds more like you messed up the floats or level causing all the problems. A new PW carb would be great, but maybe not needed.
-
Are you chopping the throttle? Or just as it slows down. If chopping, it`s just lean on the low end.
-
The problem lies in when you cut a link, it is actually 1 and a half. That`s why shortening never works. Hind sight says you should have ran with the 11t just one ride to stretch out the new chain. The last time I had this issue I bought a I/2 link built on a link with two master links. http://www.splatshop.co.uk/regina-chain-half-link.html Good luck!

Bou is best for a reason. Have you guys never seen the video when he rides with a dead motor! Unreal ability.

I was a Fantic dealer and had to replace about 5 of them.
In Fact at our first USA National in`95. The Fantics were all getting manifolds and the Gassers were getting complete fork seal holders with a new size seal. It was entertaining watching the warranties take place at an event. Long lines at both camps!
-
That`s funny, what till that thing really breaks. Gassers ride real well, but they have some issues still. The exhaust is not one of the problems.
-
That is what was wrong with the early `95`s and they came out with a new manifold under warranty. Know the history or someone that you could check manifolds?
-
What ratio of pre mix are you using.
-
Speak up Mitch. He updated parts , but bot fluid.
-
Shoe Goo fixes everything.
-
Bilks, I like that picture. Only on a gas gas is it normal wear and tear to break gears.
-
Last weekend I rode a modern event on a Beta tr33. It was quite comfortable on the loop. Matter of fact it was Willards old bike. Cleaned 15 of 27 sections! Same people that ride your SR expert line!
-
Sounds to me like the lower end is just flooded. One kick and it wets the plug. Pull the plug and maybe the head pipe too! You can kick it through without the plug. Be careful of a fire. Been more than one bike I`ve seen go up in flames.
-
I have always seen the Gaerne came on the big side. Seems I always got a 10. Wore 11 in tennis shoes and 10.5 in boots. Sidi`s were always small, but the better boot. Nowadays I cannot wear the slim Sidi, but welcome the comfortable Gaerne.
-
That bike is very clean. It could have all the restrictors still! It ran like a 125 without these removed. You have to take off the header, as there is a washer plugging the pipe. The air box had a lid that stopped most of the air flow. And the least of all was the end off the mid-pipe which had to be ground off with a dremel. Are you in the states?
-
Brake fluid ruins the pads. Either get new pads or you have to burn the oil off. A propane torch seems to be the best method.
-
Since no one has replied, I will tell you the cheapest way. Just take a drill and drill out the plastic throttle till it works. I have done up to 1/4 inch. (6mm) But then again I have dozens of old throttle assemblies.
-
I laugh at people saying how hard there hydraulic clutch is. All the years we had a cable clutch, learning to hop and do nose wheelies on the old air cooled bikes!
-
You might want to check with who you got the parts from. Unless they were used.
