Gas Gas Kick Start Spring?
By the way the kick starter is probably the most time consuming component to deal with. Be patient. The video does wonders. Also under Gas Gas Pro Tech on Jim`s web site. Is a factory bulletin on engine problems. Inside this is the timing specs for the kick start shaft. It is a word document, so I cannot give you the link to it.

Gas Gas Kick Start Spring?
Go to http://www.trialspartsusa.com/index.html. Go to the videos and the kickstarter is in one of the engine rebuild video`s. The usa gasser owners usually getone of these on a cd with our bike.

Gas Gas Kick Start Spring?
No you have to wind it with the kick starter. Look up Jim Snell`s you tube video`s as he actually shows the how to. Or try trialspartsusa.

Problems With Clutch , New Hose ! Txt 280 2007
You likely also adjusted the lever adjustment too tight. The piston has to travel and release fully. Good luck. I too like the overnight wait.

First Trial Experiences?
Just another our note, our club has always had good women riders. We`ve had some that rode the Scottish and several more that has ridden the Women`s rounds and several times the TDN team. Not bad from a small state in the USA. Keep at it, you never know how good you might end up being!

First Trial Experiences?
Great read! Keep at it. I was 12 and Won first time out in 1972. Started riding Expert in 1974. My son at sixteen just won his first Expert trials last month. Trials has been so much fun, and watching my son ride is even better. It is quite addicting if you keep at it!!

Bad Experience.....
My two cents from being on both sides. Being a twin shock it is old. The 700 was parts? Or labor included? (Labor really does not count, it is old) The world is tough. Easy enough to shame by word of mouth. One way or another you will be banned on the net. Hope it is running well now.

Trials In Canada
Being the range of the bikes. We allow riders to ride one loop, riding the sections over and over. Usually we do three loops.

Why I Should Have Put My Boots On !
We have a guy that every so often loses his prosthetic leg in a section. Damn hard to score.

Why I Should Have Put My Boots On !
Just a scratch. I took my boots off and went to score a section. Put the kicker through the leg. I bled for thirty days, my wife was p****d. ( From the bloody sheets) Three layers of stiches, a drain, and a month of beer! All worth it.

There should be a small screw on the clutch cover by the shifter. That is your engine oil level point.

Non Running Raga?
Double check the pins connecting the cdi. They have been known to get pushed in, not making a full connection.

Beta Rev 3 Wont Start After Replacing Throttle Cable
You have the slide in wrong or the wrong cable. You should be able to hear the slide hit bottom when released from full throttle. Good luck.

Yes, for whatever reason the blue oil worked well. You might just be lucky.

Modified Yokes For 1986 Honda Rtl250
You can gain a little with the front tube adjustment. But all this talk of longer and stiffer rear suspension seems to be brought on from the crazy vintage crowd. The RTL had real suspension and we were hopping about back then. You set the suspension to work together. Learn to hop or float to make it turn.

Ty 250 A Clutch Slipping?
Sounds to me like the rear tire is going into a skid or slide going downhill. Beware tightening the chain too tight as you can break parts. An O-ring can be a great investment, but totally wrong on a bike that is designed to go slow. It robs what little power the ty makes. Push it around your block once without the motor running!

2002 Gg Txt280 Pro
The shifter already bends easily. The biggest problem with the `02 was the shift drum was very weak. If this has not been replaced your son riding an Enduro will cure that problem. It will crack as it has very little metal in the original. All the upgrade parts will fix most problems. While running it is a fine bike. It is the most worked on motor (splitting the cases) than any modern motorcycle that I know of. The other issues are the clutch should have been updated and the same for the kick starter shaft. The shift shaft also has an updated part. The clutch cover should also be updated. http://www.trialspartsusa.com/racing-parts.html You really should find out from the previous owner if any of these were replaced.

200 Vs 300
I think the crank weights are different, but the top end should work. Would be an interesting turn around of a bike. I`d considered it for my son years ago. 200 upgraded to a 250 later on.

2001 315-R
That piston has had a rough life. That is not a one time occurance . That is another piece off aluminum on the piston. High revs could have nothing to do with it, but heat and a crappy mixture sure could. The bike has had some dirt through it!

Modified Yokes For 1986 Honda Rtl250
We had a few in the club back then. I`d say ride it as there is only a few survivors. http://www.retrotrials.com/1984-honda-rtl-250-report.html

Ready To Give Up On My 280Pro
The pilot actually has two holes in the carb body that it blows through. Straight up to the slide and out in front of the slide. I`d bet the later was blocked. Good job!
-
Sticking Throttle
You have to clean the whole carb. Did you have the complete carb off. The slide could be sticking from old fuel.
