  1. OK, I will concede the smoke issue. You just choke them to death with the noxious Castrol odor.
  2. Is 40:1 Is (Castrol TTS) full synthetic? I use Motul 600 or 800 both are full synthetic and I mix at 80:1. 80:1 may be a little rich for trials but I trail ride occasionally. If you use 40:1 you will be able to confuse the rider in line behind you as he will not be able to see the section or the trail for the smoke screen you have left behind.
  3. Take a Yoga class and learn how to stretch. Ham2 has it right do lots of squats. Spend some time each day emulating a ski racer or jockey bouncing up and down in a tuck position. Ciao DFW
  4. Jools, I believe that Scorpa makes at least two different flywheels for the SY250. I have a SY250 Racing with a heavy flywheel. Mike Komer at the Tryals Shop (the US importer) Tryals Shop changes out the flywheels on bike to be ridden by new riders. You might ask him if he has any of the light flywheels laying around. If you turn down a flywheel make sure to have it done at a shop with good balancing equipment. Just sticking a flywheel in a lathe tends not to yield good results. I learned to ride (not to imply that I can ride) with the heavy flywheel and a slow throttle. I have just changed to a fast throttle and like the quicker response and I still have good traction. 5. Check out this part of the video. Does he stall the engine? Ciao DFW
  6. Here is a link in English (American) Scorpa 4T
  7. Na, it's not an error of judgement to have bought it. The error of judgement may come in where and with whom you ride it. Welcome aboard DFW
  8. angus, I don't think there is a good copy available anywhere. You can down load the PDF file available on the Scorpa website and print it out. It is not of very good quality. I wish the Scorpa folks would pay a little more attention to the manual. Here is the link Scorpa Manual
  9. Just make sure to remove the ignition module and unplug the leads to the mag before striking an arc. Stray currents from welding can ruin electronics. DW

Sparky, Some time when you have the tank off would you please take a picture and post it to show how you re-routed the throttle cable. Thanks Doug Wilson
  11. jsp, Although I don't own a 4RT yet I do get to watch a very good very technical rider every weekend. When he first got his 4RT he rode it like it was a two stroke. He blipped the throttle constantly and used lots of clutch. As he is very analytical about his riding he has adopted a style in which he rides very smoothly. With the 4RT he can wait until the last moment to apply power. He applies power smoothly and doesn

What year is it? From the photo looks like it is an 02. DFW
  15. Sterzy, I some times break them off during a ride but have had no trouble extracting them with the small screw driver blade on my Leatherman. The one time it was a little difficult I just heated up the blade with a butane lighter and made a slot in the screw. I don't use metric screws I think that it is a 10-32 that will work. They cost me about 1$ for 6 of them at Lowes or Home Depot. I use my Leatherman to cut them to length. Ciao Doug Wilson
  16. Sterzy, Don't drill them out. Go to the hardware store and get some nylon screws. They will pull out or break off and won't damage your fender or the inserts. If you take out the inserts you may cause an air leak path. I will try to post a photo of my bike with the nylon screws and will let you know the size of the screw later. Ciao Doug Wilson
  17. Tride 250 This answers most of the questions. Ciao DFW

Well at least you won't have to split the cases. DFW
  19. Put the pants in a mesh bag like those used for SCUBA diving gear. It keeps the pants from getting roughed about in the washing machine. Then hang them out to dry.
  20. LPB, Sounds like a cooling problem. Have you checked for a kinked hose, an obstruction in the system, the coolant level, and your impellar? Ciao Doug 03 SY250

    Scorpa Trail

I love it!!! Now they need to make an SY450F. Ciao DFW
  22. Piruleiro, The Scorpa is great. You might also think about a used 98 Alp with the 2T engine, it makes a great trials/trail bike. Ciao Doug Wilson
  23. Charlie, One buck knife each or just one? DFW
  24. That's not a seat it's the air filter. I like the fuel line routing!! DFW
