81 top three, Burgat SWM Vesty Bult, Mart SWM
Johns first ride was on a Bult, rode SWM his 2nd attempt.
-
Malc did win on the Mont in 79, but Mart was on the Bult that year.

I don't blame China for getting what they can, more the western countries selling out, but no doubt it will change again, has one gets fat and lazy another takes over.
It's hard to compete with child and slave labor.
-
How many times has Mick rode a bult in the SSDT ? think you will find the first fella isn't English.
-
Not hard to see years you were too knackered to wash the bike after the event Gizza
I would record my scores of each section in the program, and compare section scores each year.
-
Wake up people!!
Since China started producing any and everything at a much lower cost than the west.
Is your economy better?
Is the cost of fuel cheaper?
is employment up?
Do they treat their workers fairly?
Do they pay them fairly?
Do they follow the same pollution and environmental codes ?
Do they produce safe none toxic food and Medical products?
Some people are making a killing, and don't mind putting your job and health on the line, in return you get a cheap TV, trials bike, or tooth paste, how much will they really cost you in the end ?
-
You lot could do with importer direct

Wondering why our club has the best turnout in years this weekend, no new bikes around but plenty of riders.
Maybe folk are cutting back on the high dollar pastimes and going with the one that gives a good day of fun for little cost.
In the US of today, wouldn't full of **** be a good thing, like wearing your best ****, that's some cool ****, he's got his **** togeather, look at the **** he's riding, sounds **** hot to me.
-
They always start better if your wearing the right gear
-
The topic started going down the "how can we get more people involved in the sport" route, nothing wrong with that.
I don't think the recession has even started to bite yet, my thought was!! maybe a few might keep bikes coming into the country if they cut the chaff and make a bit more per sale.
Lets see how it looks this time next year.
-
Could we have summat a little more entertaining than square boxes, like a big knob, if it's limp tha's safe, if it semi limp be warned, and if it's a full woody tha's ****ed.
-
Find an old barber chair, remove the seat and put a good plate where the seat bolted and pump her up

When I first came to the US, many of our local club riders would load up the van with three or four riders, bikes and kit, then set off for the weekend at PNTA or nationals events, all chipping in for fuel etc, for some reason we seemed to have a lot more fun, it was always an adventure that we would laugh about for years, even the top riders were out there camping out of their vans.
Then the bigger is better idea seemed to take hold, and if you don't turn up in a min 30ft gas hog, your not really into the sport.
A couple of years ago when gas was $2 a gallon, I wouldn't think twice about dragging out the old road coach, today the price is heading towards $4 per gallon, time to change!! I can pull the seats out of the kid carrier, load the bike and sleeping bag, pad and go to the nationals for less in fuel cost than it was back then.
Yesterday it cost me $169 for 52 gallon to fill the RV, sad part is it was a third full anyway I can go camp with the kid's three weekends at local trials, on that one tank of gas, still very good value for an enjoyable weekend, but the long haul events are a different story and it doesn't make sense to spend a couple of grand in fuel.
Remember Ray Peters, driving to events in the Honda Civic with the little tear drop trailer on the back, and world championship rider sharing a van with riders they were competeing against, it might do us good to tighten the belt a bit, the best thing about this sport, is the people who do it.

Cookie also say "man with hole in pocket feel cocky all day"
-
That Perce was telling me compared to the Scott, the Scottish is a ladies trial.
He said them fat old fellows from years back could do it in half the time on pre 65 iron.
-
I microwave the dubbing a minute or two, then slap it on with a paint brush, soaks right in
-
I often wondered why you gave us such a leisurely ride back down the road from fersit, when there is so much moor and track between there and FW, you should pop up on the moor again to Alt Na Lairige, and off road it all the way back to town, the riders complain when they get too cold going down the road all the time.
It would make Thursday a full day, not the half day it is now.
-
Email Kinell, he knows every road up there
-
You can be a Dick at times Cope, to tell you the truth I have been throwing good money away trying to help the sport for the past ten years " whore bikes1 easy money" **** you.
-
On a more positive note! we had our first club round of the season this past Sunday, and the best turnout in well over a year, maybe trials can draw a few more new riders from the more expensive motorcycle sports with the economy being tight.
-
Many of the bikes in our club new or used were bought out of state, if any dealer or private seller advertises a bike online, providing the customer and seller agree on price and shipping, the location of the bike is not a problem.
When people say you should support your local dealer, the fact is for price and convenience the majority will shop around online.
If the whole thing falls flat, the little dealer may take a bit of an hit on a few bikes and probably be able to walk away unscathed, the people who have $100 / $200, 000 and more invested are going nip up a bit.
I would rather see a few do well than a lot do poor.
-
Ha but!! can 'T ride tandem
-
Pointing fingers at who is and who is not doing what, doesn't solve the problem.
I think in a good year maybe 500 new trials bike sales in the US, this isn't a good year, and I would think 350 sales is closer to the truth.
A couple of years ago there were 5 US importers, last year there were 4, this year there are 3 anyone else notice the trend ?
The importers will do just what they think is best for them, none have called me and given me a B*****ksing for starting all this yet
