Beta Rev 3 Wont Start After Replacing Throttle Cable
Hearing it hit bottom IS important! A must! If you have anything out of place you need to check, cause it is like trying to start the bike with the throttle open.

2000 Sherco Carb Problems
Although I do not hav it in front of me, there are a few points on the Dellorto. Obviously, the choke ON position is with lever UP, off is horizontal. There are seals on that simple piston circuit as I racall, as well as an o-ring where the tube sticks into bowl. Your slide needle clip needs to sit in the slide below the lower plate in the slide assy. with spring on top the plate! Be sure floats are not heavy and full of fuel sloshing inside. Send the carb to Splatshop Chris for a ck if unsure about it, don't cost much.

1999 Sherco Hoses
In the parts list it did appear they put the thermo switch in the top of the rad on that year so I would not run it too low or the sensor may not contact the thermo switch properly to make it work! Possibly why they changed the arrangement! Straight hose that size should be available at the auto parts vendor I would think. 1/2 inch or 13mm I believe. Standard screw clamps just work!

Flood Or Starve
Re read the thing and he did mention a Kiehin, so therefore, if you have two hoses installed, one on bottom of bowl(overflow) and other bowl vent on right near slide, remove the vent tube to see if it still happens. Insure this one is removed or as short as possible if you just must have it. Do not powerwash water in there though! Do tell results!

1999 Sherco Hoses
Top hose appears fairly straight and non special in the parts illustration for that year. Lower one seems the same part number for later models like "04 I looked at.

2000 Sherco Carb Problems
On the dellorto carb there should be a half round brass piece that enters the bore of the carb by about 3mm as I recall(I no longer have one in front of me). Need drops into it. There may be threads visible from top, as the part needle goes into sits below. Insure you have properly cleaned the pilot jet with a fine wire passing through it. Anything less will not suffice! Clutch plates may stick HARD after long periods of sitting(or short). Fresh oil helps, but you may have to separate them manually if you cannot put the bike into high gear and rock it with your butt on seat with lever pulled in. The surface tension thing it is, a trials bike thing!!!! Be carefull with this allways, as they will catch you out after sitting, and you suddenly run into neighbors car! Hope that helps!

Why Aren't Toni Bou & Dougie Lampkin More Popular ?
Tests like that is why I quit school! I could not stand it! Drove me crazy! Same with History class! I had to leave and go to work in a real job. ADHD, I could give a crap to recall the exact year, god help me as they do not test that way! There are certain rules I do recall, Ian and Andy are still 39 years of age, same as me, Donald has progressed a bit and is 40 now along with Hirdy!

Tyre Pressure Trade Off
Caution with all this as you may find your pressures will vary throughout the day. Depending upon riding area, the tires will develop some heat in them as you ride, increasing pressures. Temps during the course of the day vary as well! On a car, the rule of thumb would be about 1psi change per 10F variation. Long story short, I have seen my pressures vary by a couple pounds from early cold settings!

Current 125S - Evo, Gasser, Ossa?
I believe everything is a bit of a tradeoff on a 125 for an adult rider, most have little low end poke, yet the older Betas were pretty good, not sure you will find that nowa. They are comp bikes, rev and go pretty much. Takes a different style, not for a lazy rider!

Knockin' Not Rockin'
Well, from what you have stated it is not the top end, the bottom end or the gears, so it must be fine! Let us see and hear a vid ofit! It is difficult to diagnose noises or the tinternet. My crystal ball sucks! You state replacing big end bearing? Possibly so, however last time I checked, thece come in a conrod kit with a new rod and crankpin. You know, the other mating wear parts there upon a true lower end knock. What is your clearance Clarence? There are only so many rotating parts there, you know!
