  1. Me too. Possibly 6 of us going. Maybe one more - is it full up yet?

    Mixture

70 : 1 is about right. So that's 70 bottles of two stroke oil to one of petrol, or is it the other way round?..............
  3. Is this open to all ACU riders. If not is there day membership of local club available?
  4. Pete, Pleased to see a Class X! All I want is a day out on the bike (Pampera) not concerned with championships etc. The Millers series hard route is usually spot on for the keener trail bike riders. Mike

    2010 Sherco

The Gassers have the bottom yoke angled to nearly match frame angle. But it's not quite exact & a little filing is required. Fans of good steering lock do this & add sticky plastic to protect paint. Could the sherco yoke be profiled to match the frame tube angle better?

    Pampera 04

I use 450cc per leg. sae 5 or 7.5 oil.
  7. Entry list, to date, is now on the club web page.
  8. Results: here Excellent day out in perfect weather. Thanks to all involved. I like the C90 idea....

    2010 300cc Power

Adding the flywheel is the best mod on a 300. Transforms the bike. Shame it's not std.
  11. Gas Gas grip & 300 tuning options can be ound here: http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/index....showtopic=29003

    Trials Bike?

Didn't the yanks use them as desert racers & enduro bikes? They did a lot of winning as Harleys were heavier! More trail than trial
  13. Moto, Yep, you got me there... Never kept that 250 long - it seemed to self destruct / decompose really quickly. Got tempted by the TL250. Now that was a tank.
  14. Mr Singe, It's interesting to see how trials bikes geometry & engine position has changed over the years. Not mentioning bar position. A couple of weeks ago I rode a trial on a 79 350. Fortunately it was an easy SE centre twinshock event as the brakes were an early version of anti-lock. The bike was particularly superb on climbs & turns into climbs, I was always aware my body was so far over the front, yet the bike kept driving & gripping... You could tell it was set-up for non stop flowing sections. Fun to ride though. Mike
  15. My TL125 was my first trials bike & acted as back-up for my BSA 441 road bike. Hence it got a lot of road use, as well as a proper trashing in my first few trials. 192 marks lost first time. So okay on the road depending on gearing. Lights - poor, yes I had to add a lighting coil. Gearing - I overgeared mine with a road bike sprocket so much that on a ride from Surrey to the Lake District I only used top gear once! The biggest prob will be costs, somehow these old bikes are "sought after classics". I'm not sure why.
  16. For those that don't get Eurosport 2....... A few clips can be seen here: http://tvali.ge/index.php?action=sat&c...l=78149&d=7 go to 31/01 & 21.00 onwards. 5 minute clips, not every link works though.
  17. Like TT5th - I've start using a Paramo jacket. Really does the job. It'll fit into a camelback mule for those longer events. So far no leaks at all. Lifetime guarantee & easily reproofable. You can tell if somethings worth having if the used (Ebay) prices hold up. That's where mine came from.
  18. I've just heard the Eastboune Club's South Coast Group trial is cancelled. Something to do with snow.....
  19. Chris, Licence/insurance requirements seem to vary with each (French) club. Gueret And Indre (Easter trial) club's are pretty laid back & only an ACU licence is required - at least that was the case last year. We stopped going to Aveyron due to their insistance on all that FIM international licence guff you mention. Getting ripped off for a medical was a bit much, but the extra requirements for over 50s really killed it off. Regs are out for the Indre/La Chatre trial now http://trial.lachatre.free.fr/indexbis.html Mike
  20. If you have a bike that grips........ (how come some bikes seem to grip naturally - ie grips whatever the rider does. where as others only grip when an expert rides) And a fresh IRC rear..... Then select third or fourth, pin it, lean back, dump clutch. Shut off halfway up & momentum does the rest. And you're there...... Or go see if the snapper got your pic!

  22. I use a lot of pro-preception and reaction training while holding onto the bar which helps.... plus I use a bike to make a trials move easier first. The greater the neuro-muscular system is trained the quicker your brain will compute which allows you to perform movements when drinking. Comes down to following a model (stalker!)........ Having passed through conscious incompetence and into unconscious competence, I cycle home. Its amazing to take a client who doesn't even know they can't perform a function and turn it round to a pint were they no longer even have to think about it. Nothing like when Bou and Raga ride and you can tell it just happens naturally.
  23. Greengrass, shame the Trevor Hunts not in the series next year. One of the better rounds I thought..... I trust there will be an 0/40 class or similar included. (or even trailbike?). Perce, the Blue Bar is a similar level to the Sammy Miller series, i.e. somewhat easier than the Normandale Trad series std. And a very enjoyable trial is too. Particularly on my Pampera. Cheers, Mike
