The Yam TY175 Twinshock would be perfect for beginner, you can pick up a good trial ready one for a grandish.

45k on a diesel your still running it in.
Got 155k on a 2 year old little Ford Transit connect, just front brake pads changed and a few sets of tyres, still feels and drives like new.
I've gone down the french route before, there dislike for the brits shinned on that one.

Being Self Employed in this country with all these Bank Holidays is becoming a Financial nightmare.
Why on earth could'nt they have popped over to the seychelles to get married like everybody else.
-
Sounds like a plan, although sheffield is'nt a championship scorer, however if they manage to miss the first and maybe second championship scoror the bike or rider arn'nt under pressure to win, which will then leave ossa to promote a fun PR stunt for the rest of the championship.
Don't lets forget this new Ossa set up are a clever bunch of knobs, who realy knows what there motives are until they've pulled them off,and this is what makes Ossa such a fun team to follow.
-
You have summed it up quite well Lee.
Depending where and what trial it is depends what grade you are,i think only in trials you can be a beg one day,a novice one day and the next day you can be expert.
-
Carbs seem to be pretty much an over looked part, for some reason people think the same carb should last for 100 years without changing or maintaining them.
I never did warm to the oko,for me its dell all the way, must be something to do with italian good's you know Gucci handbags and all that.

At the end of the day off road/on road bikes are just like clothes there a fashion, its not that long ago a famous name in trials went into administration the reason for for this is because they had a shop full gear nobody want, you can speak to a certain Fantic bod today and they will tell you there workshop is busier today than it ever was in the 80's.
Theres dosh still out there.
-
I went to the liberty of getting a pic of that clutch lightner.
There must be enough 200's rolling for someone to make and sell some kit's,if it's a 1 finger pull id pay.
-
If you took these off Darling you would'nt have no problem.
-
If i had to sum up the last 10 years i would say the first 2 years we were in a genuine boom and in the last 8 years everyone thought we was still in a boom.
-
The viewers were shown an option yes, although a bit half chewed.
There are better organised clubs they could of visited which are also more family oriented.
I don't know why countryfile had to get involved with such a complex issue, they normaly spend an hour looking down at larry the lamb scratching each others heads wondering how he has just given birth.
-
Think you missed my point,The Trf guy had no interest in fighting the corner of legal off road riding on private ground such as Trials or MX,they hit below the belt there a little knowing the trf would'nt fight it.
-
They could'nt of picked a weaker motorcycle organisation to fight the side of all motorcycle sport.
-
I watched that last night,my thoughts was how badly that report was put together.
-
Mint.
I bet the Rozzers that stopped the 3 did'nt think they would have to give evidence at the end of the Trial.
-
Somehow thats how i can imagine the SSDT Ballot being like.

You only need 1 spacer that sits on the right,if you have the right speedo drive you can use that as it was originaly the spacer.

Easy Trials seem to be making a big impact,Its amazing how a club can gather up 75 riders on a saturday afternoon for an easy trial, with a mixture of P65/TS and modern bikes carrying the very young to the very old with a nice relxed atmosphere around.
We allready know the answer, some of the modern trials are just to damn hard for 80% of the field, unless clubs seriously realise this there trials aint ever gonna be happy and the kids won't be coming through no matter what rules they use.
COC needs to be prepared to stick up 2 fingers to the other 20%.
-
I don't understand Pete, hav'nt modern events allways had the option of using non stop rules, thats all classic trials is,its quite simple just tell your riders on the day how the trial should be ridden.
Don't they call non stop in the modern bike world "Traditional Trials".
-
A club trial is just a club trial, ofcourse you'd expect to see a mixture of bikes unless it's a classic club.
At many individual P65/TS classic Trials such as the Exmoor and dartmoor trials there is no need for support from modern bikes,if you don't get your entry in sooner enough to these 2 trials you won't be riding, thats how popular they are.
I guess the answer why Classic trial is becoming more popular,is what a few others here have already mentioned,in most cases the youngest rider is no younger than 30 which means the classic club putting the event on isn't under pressure to put anything stupid into the section, personaly i think 2 routes in any trial is more than enough.
-
-
I think this looks pretty cool,it was posted else where on this site, but it's a great example of what we are talking about here,i expect a few bods at the classic trial would have kittens if i pulled this out my van.
-
It does make you wonder doesnt it,is Trials at ameteur level on the turn, people who are buying these T/S arnt buying them to stash in the back of the garage and wait in hope that the bikes will give them a pension, people are buying them to ride in competition be it serious or just for laughs.
