  1. 5ft lb is a good starting point in clutch springs! Check the basket retaining nuts tight, and the actuator fitted over it snugly!
  2. Right thats fine, got loads of the stuff, factory oil has always felt good for me, pretty responsive! how much? Factory spec is 440? Can you variate this for lighter feel atall? As for the drag, I dont think its down to plates, the bike aint really that old, maybe six months? I suspect it was to do with the nut, because when she came to the end of the shaft there was no clutch atall! The drag came on pretty suddenly, from there being no difference between neutral and the clutch in, to having to put all your weight behind to push it! Update: Cant get the ******* thing back together, the roller bearing wont fit onto the release pin far enough to allow the outer plate to fit on? how the hell? Update two: Found the cause of above problem, the rod that runs down the shaft to the hydraulic actuator thingy on the other side of the bike wont go far enough down the shaft, its about 7mm off the needed posistion, im thinking, as the levers solid that the pressure needs released, undo the bleed nipple?
  3. Right, apart from the mainstream trials tyre manafacturers: IRC, Michelin, Dunlop, Pirelli ect.. who else is there, I've been browsing ebay and come across a few brands I've never ever heard of! First one was this, Heidenau Anybody on here heard of them, what they like? Any reports? Also, this! Fung Keong Also never heard of them, any reports? So yeah, apart from the ones mentioned, who else is out there, what are they like? All the general nonsense about them please!
  4. Got a holder! What oil should be used? is 10w 40 semi synth ok?
  5. He doesnt have one in stock Got a new nut on the way though... will try Gary Macdonald and the rest of the locals first The bit in the casing was flywheel side, turns out its fine, looked at others and there the same... seeing bare metal worried me though!
  6. You said on tf your 13 Anyways, yeah... everything I said on tf... basically best to get a Sherco due to the bottom end power, but the gas gas is lightest so the best choices are those two, all down to personal preference! Edit: dr doom!
  7. Local garage did it, turns out the nuts buggered, not sure about the shaft, hopeing the nuts made from a softer material! Going to try the nut off my 06 first, just to check its not the shaft! Cant see much in pics, just a normal clutch unit with a loose nut, the nut hadn't flown off completely so no damage to be seen... Where in the uk can I get one of these clutch holding tools? Update: Shaft appears fine, tried my rear wheel axle nut on the shaft, good fit, no play so threads fine, now where do I get the original nut? Seems to be made from brass so specialist part?
  8. Was told the best way to do it was to use a torqued airgun socket, the quick impact should tighten it before the engine could turn apparently! set it too 43 just to make sure not to over tighten, bugger!
  9. Another update, its not tightening up, something threaded at 43 ft lbs, bugger! Just hopeing its not the shaft!
  10. Right, down to the retaining nut with the release rod inside, the nut was loose, so loose it could be done up by hand about 6 turns, anybody got any clues on how tight I should make this?
  11. Part of the casings sheared, one of the bits that stick up past the flywheel... no idea what would of caused this and the peice of metal aint under there so dont think its that, pics later!
  12. Cheeky bugger you are, Mark... It's something I must of done hundreds of times which makes it even more annoying, small step leading onto a big climb, as can be seen here! Im hoping its something to do with the plates, the clutch has been dragging a bit the last week, like really hard to push with the clutch in. Will take a nosey later and get back to you all! There's still drive as I rode it home in first gear without the clutch.

    Clutch

Paxau sherco. 125 08 block Revved the bike up for a splatter earlier, revved to about three quarter revs and the clutch just went bang and the bike went forward... then the clutch was as if it needed bled? now the lever is solid, like a rock! and even when I do manage to pull it in, it doesnt do anything... where to start? Jamie
  14. Yup, afraid you'll have to save up... Did exactly the same to my sherco two pot caliper,
  15. Just a few pics, nothing special!
  16. Where are you then? 100 miles from Glasgow, sounds like Fort Bill too me!
  17. Well, my next door neighbour has one, not an 07 but an 03... this year it saw its 5th scottish and made it through alive, its ridden often and the only time its in the garage is for new tyres, brake pads ect... Tough bikes, built like tanks... I think there not used much due to the weight, there rather heavy with the steel frame, lets it down really.
  18. Did I see a xispa being pushed along the road at nevis bridge, out of fuel perhaps.. or maybe they couldn't stand upto the test!
  19. Id take a guess in the region of
  20. Whatever you do, from experience dont put water in there... just put 'cavatation' in the search box... It should be ran with either pure coolant or a 50/50 mix, coolant and de-ionized water... It should run pretty hot, I find a good test for engine temp is too hold your hand on the barrel and after AROUND 5 seconds it should begin to hurt!
  21. Few piccies from bottom section at Lagnaha.. Dad was moaning about weather so didn't go further...
  22. Indeed, just got back from Lagnaha, weather was pretty god damn poor.. locals were doing well, the slippy rocks and deep, hidden holes were catching out the big boys! Got a few good pics from the bottom section at lagnaha, didn't venture any further due to the weather but enjoyed it all the same!
  23. Not doing too well, will post a time when complete! Bike doesn't sound healthy, or is it that gas gas rattle!
  24. Hmm, im pretty sure there 6004 2RS, If you pop the bearings out they should have a reference mark on them! These maybe? Can you post up a pic or two of the bike, I had one of these and have some very fond memories of it!
