Yep, 70 psi. However, if it looks like sticking at that point I deflate and put some more tyre soap on and start again.

Here's one of me on the DRZ400 during the Wyegate Long Distance Trial at Wixons rocks.

Try to look past the awful ebay listing and the crappy paint job and you can see that someone has done a half decent job of fitting the engine in that frame. That doesn't stop it being a pile of junk now though.
-
It looks as if it might have been a half decent bike at one time... anyone know what it actually is?
-
Hey Addict, you're not supposed to use the forums to advertise something that your selling you know!

-
Yep, can't argue with you there

A 2001 for that kind of money should be in really good condition.
Only real issues I had with the two I owned were rear wheel spokes breaking.

I do hope that you're not trying to gain an advantage by stuffing Ralph with butties prior to the start, so that he struggles up the hills!

Yes, all are welcome at Saintbury Quarry on Sunday.
The venue will be signposted from the A44 at the top of Fish Hill near Broadway.
There will be three routes to cater for all abilities from Experts to TY80 and even trail bikes.

If you learn the boring stuff at the start, it will help you do the exciting stuff sooner.
Stick to a flat surface for a hour or two and practice figure or eights. Keeping your shoulders parallel to the bars as you turn helps.
Once you can do these on (or close to) full lock without putting your feet down you are ready to move on.
Riding on the flat initially will also help you learn to balance and build up strenght in you hands and knees, then when you go out on the hills etc you will be able to ride for longer.
In no time, you will be riding for hours at a time.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Thanks for giving us that link, it looks more like Spain than the UK

Be careful of that bottom shock bolt. It is a strange and expensive type with a wasted shank for some reason, they break easily and have to be ordered from Gas Gas.
I sold my Pampera a couple of years back, but I ran one tooth down onthe front (11 I think) I tried a 10 which made it even more like a trials bike but it was useless on the road bits. Many people also remove the chain guide and fir a trials style tensioner but I didn't do this, so I don't know how hard it is to do.
Also check that you have security bolts fitted to the rims if you are gloing to run low pressures. Mine came with trials tyres and rim locks from new, but it was a BVM one and I think they did that.

Move the pegs back. Rear footrest brackets are the easiest solution, they make the bike a little wider but can be removed easily. You will need to shorten the rear brake lever accordingly.
Fit a stone guard under the frame rails and take a look at the front rim... they are made of putty. I cahnged both rims and fitted heavy duty spokes, but it is only the front that is a problem.
BVM Moto at Stroud (UK) did have the foot rest brackets and skid plates in stock at one time.
100mls of oil to 5 litres of fuel for road trials/enduros or 80mls for short circuit events and you won't be far out.
The rear suspension bushes need lots of care, strip them down and regrease before they start to squeak. Once they make a noise they are shot and they cost a fortune. You will need a 16mm spanner for the bottom nut, it's the only time I have ever used a 16 for anything and I had to go out and buy one just for that job!
The speedo's only work with the lights on!!! Why?? That said, mine stopped working completely after a couple of months.
Brilliant bike for LDT's you just need to keep on top of tha maintenace.

Thanks for warning us, I've had a lot of these emails appearing but luckily my anti virus warned me not to open it.
They all have a message in bad english and a link. If anyone gets one of these, delete as soon as you see it.

We're riding in the WG&FD Trail bike and beginers trial on Saturday (on our trail bikes) otherwise that would be a brilliant idea. Can't get two days off the DIY sadly.
I honestly can't praise the 290 Evo enough, I really really liked that one. If only I could justify a new trials bike that would be the one.

And don't even mention stators
