  1. Charlie... Can you please give us details of how to make the right tool ? Yes I look at your website regularly and eagerly await the final build
  2. I think I would strip it and sell it for spares. Use the money to buy something a little more complete
  3. Not without a LOT of work

    Cooked Engine

In my humble opinion, This was the order of failure... Hot spot developed on the cylinder (Look at the heat mark on the right of the crack in the head) This in turn led to one or more parts of the head cracking away into the cylinder. This in turn punched the hole larger forcing shrapnel into the water jacket and probably into the exhaust too. When the shrapnel worked its way into the water pump this jammed the impeller causing the stripped thread. So what caused the hot spot ? You mentioned earlier I think that the engine had recently been de-coked I think. Mostly likely damaged at that point. May have been too small to see with a naked eye.
  5. Using the exhaust to earth the plug is not advisable as generally speaking they are rubber mounted and cannot really be relied upon as a good earth.
  6. A similar thing happens to me. I believe its a type of cramp. Basically the muscle that controls that finger has gone into spasm. My solution is to drink as much liquid as possible both before and during the trial. If you use single finger clutching you may also want to consider going to two fingers as this will put less strain on the problem finger. Also massage your hand as you walk each section.Sounds silly but in the same way as an athlete warms up before exercise. Warm your hand by doing hand stretches etc before the trial starts.
  7. Its threaded into the frame
  8. Metal insert from a previous shock rusted to the old mount maybe. It is very common.
  9. Me too. I was told not to ride across the slope but to aim slightly up hill of where I want to be and I will end up where I want to be. Sounds strange but seemed to work for me.
  10. I bet the car drivers and local police love you
  11. cambs trials centre
  12. 1. Splines could be worn but this is unlikely 2. Most likely a problem with the gears which are probably warn. An easy but quite expensive repair. Allow about £200
  13. Think thats the forward kick 200 not the rear kick model
  14. Pretty sure its not the same

    240 Seat Repair

Get in touch with Richard Allen http://www.allensusedtrialsspares.co.uk/ who can get them recovered
  16. Mine does it too. I was going to try the beta clutch fix as found in another topic here
  17. It should be mounted with the body attached to the frame. The reason being that you want the mass that moves (the wheel, swinging arm, etc) to be as light as possible so that it is more easily controlled as it does quick changes in direction as it goes over bumps in the ground. A lighter weight is much easier to accelerate/de-accelerate than a heavier one and hence the tyre stays in better contact with the surface you are riding over.
  18. Yes. The clearance is very small. On mine I heated up the gear lever and bent it out very slightly
  19. Its for use on the 125
  20. I think you'll find 48 far too much. 10 42 is what most peps use but try 10 44 if you want to go slower. You may not even need a chain at this. Are you doing the dabbers trial on Sunday?
