My Pinky is going to have a full stripdown and service at the end of the month, two names spring to mind for the engine work...Nigel Birkitt or Mick Andrews. I know NB is still about cause I saw him at a trial on Saturday, but what of Mick Andrews?? Anybody got any contact numbers?? cheers guys

The mechanism that pushes the pushrod to disenguage the clutch plates isnt working right and drops a bit. Seems like it is not pushing the pushrod, there is no resistance against it, and it doesn’t return to neutral positions. Do I have to split the cases to get to it to repair it? Any thoughts on what it might be?

I was recently browsing all the results from the 2013 WTC and happened across the Manufacturer's table. I noticed that Yamaha finished the season with points. Honda did too but this could be due to there being a rider on a Honda branded Montesa so is understandable, but can anyone shed light on how Yamaha have managed to earn points? Taken from the FIM website: http://www.fim-live.com/en/sport/trial/classifications/ I would love to see what bike has awarded Yamaha points. Cheers

Help, every time I think I could have fixed my ty175 I then do a trial on a warm day, like today, and it starts to cut out,no spark. As far as I know I have checked or replaced every thing that could go wrong so now it looks like I will purchase an electronic ignition. So the question is should I go for the one sold by Trail and Trial or the one on the Majesty trials site, looking at them they dont look the same and from the spec they give different advance curves.Anyone got any advice? please. Hi Guys I've just picked up my new (very old) twin shock Ty175 to join my FZR400RR 3TJ & RD350LC. I intend to use the TY for light fun use off road with my pal on his fantic 305. Any advice on where I can read up more on the TY175 or what manuals are available will be greatly received. I've no manual for the bike and have found that info appears rather scarce for these bikes - which suprises me very much. To be honest I don't even know how old my bike is (it's not road registered). I've paid

My Friend has just bought a Goddon Majesty TY250, it had been stood for several years, we have cleaned carb & tank out & put in fresh petrol, started up no problem, ticks over all good. However took it out on his practice track it seemed to pull Ok but power is very flat, not as good as his Ty175. Starts, runs, does not miss, just seems to lack any Oomph. Any Ideas ??

Hi Guys - hoping someone has some advice please - am restoring a TY250 twinshock, 1978 and have got a new makuni carb from Alan's performance and it just will not rev out. Starts fine, but every time you open the throttle it just will not rev and makes like a 4-stroking sound. Tried moving the needle about but just cannot seem to cure it. Anybody managed to fix this sort of problem? Cheers. Brian.

Too cold to do much today so painted the muffler. Zipped around yard with it out a couple of times. More noise - no extra power.

Got a side stand off eBay that was billed as a 175 side stand. It looks like one but is far too short. So don't know if it's been cut down or is off a TY80 or something. Would one of you with an original side stand on their 175 be kind enough to measure it for me? I'm going to cut it and weld an extension in. Thanks Dave

I am in the process of preparing a Yam Ty 175 Yam and turning it into a 200 Majesty ( am I right to say Mick Andrews John Edward Shirt T.Y. is how Majesty came about?) So if any of you decent people out there have any info on frames, turning 175cc into 200cc, shockers, the history of the marque, how to squeeze that extra power from the engine, length and placement of shockers subject to rider weight, forks, exhausting matters, and any info on this bike, however insignificant you may feel it is, please post it here, your reward will be several pints of the finest beer known to man. BODDINGTONS: the cream of Manchester as well you know! Thankyou. Eiger.

Hi guys, Rebuild is coming along, getting into a few nitty gritty jobs now. While fitting up the throttle cable it felt a bit tight and rough. I dismantled it and oiled it but it's still stiff for the throttle to snap closed. My question is, do you bin the oil pump in favour of a single throttle cable and just mix the oil with the petrol. My thinking is, it's a near 40 year old pump, what if it doesn't deliver the oil as it should. bin it and single throttle cable or replace with new duel cable and keep the convenience of the pump? what have you guys done. Oh and as for tank graphics, do I opt for the thin double line that was on it originally or go …

  19. Hello. I'm a new member here and am working on my dad's 76 TY175. He had broken the frame muffler mount many many years ago and had just bailing wired the muffler up to the frame and now that I'm working on getting it running again, I want to fabricate a new muffler mounting bracket that is welded to the bottom of the rear-right seat frame tube. Would it be possible for somebody to draw or trace that small triangular bracket and email it to me so I can reproduce it (somewhat) and weld it to the frame? Thanks for any help or references provided.
