Hi all ... I was just out in my shop with my boys talking trials bikes ... As some of you may know I just did a ground up on a 74 ty80 that I obtained for my youngest son ... And of course my middle child (2yrs older) parked his 89?xr 100 after he WAY overrevved it and got it to bend some valves ... But this thought came into my feeble mind ! What if I used the XR wheels and forks and built my own whitehawk TY80 ! I'd have to lengthen the swingarm abit to clear the 16' back wheel , and a little creative bearing application and the forks should work ... And the fresh / tweeked ... ty80 motor has more than enough to spin the larger wheels ... AND chen shin make trials ti…

New this this site and just getting into the twin shock bikes. I have got a 76 250c. It has stuck in first gear and can not shift out of gear. The clutch still works and can be ridden but will not shift. Any ideas?? I expect to have to pull motor and split the cases. Unless anyone has any other options that I don't know about. Any help would be greatly appreicated

Hi All I have a TY 250 Mono that has matching frame and engine numbers ie 59N00166 which I believe makes it a 1985 N model ? Two questions:- 1. The head and carb inlet are stamped 38V..Does this mean they are from a different model? 2.The rear shocker looks like it has been set to its highest position making the suspension quite hard. I assume to adjust it there is a C spanner required? not having one or wanting to but one how else can I adjust?? Thanks in anticipation Regards

Greetings- I have a 1975 TY175. I am trying to sort out some problems, and the big one is the left crankcase is damaged where the clutch adjustment hole is. The whole area is gone, must have had a chain derail I'm guessing. I have not had any luck finding a crankcase half for the TY, but find lots of DT175 ones on ebay. They look similar and I'm wondering if they interchange. The bike is rideable but the clutch shaft goes up and down when the clutch is pulled and the adjustment goes back and forth. Any ideas or info greatly appreciated.

Been riding Fantic T/S' for ages, and have a TY 250 mono that seems to work just like a modern bike, so imagine my supprise when I got a really nice majesty 250, wich seems as flat as a pancake, spoke to a few Yam boys, and was imformed they are all like that?? well are they?? Dont get me wrong , it seems to climb anything, but you have to hang on and wait, not confidence inspiring. How does yours go????

What bars do you use? Im 6 foot 6 and just got my TY all together and even got an MOT on it (not that im doing any mileage on it). Anyway Im finding it a bit low in the bar region, even after I put some Renthal enduro High bars in it. Now I have a GasGas EC300 and a Kawasaki KDX220R, obviously you can chop and change clamps etc on them but the TY are solid clamps and worse still, point back towards you. This is obviously not very handy for risers. So, any idea chaps? Cheers.

As briefly discussed in a recent post, has anyone else fitted a Mikuni TM28 flatslide to a ty350 mono with success or not and what jets did you end up using in your region. I just put one on mine and changed out to a #145 main and a #40 pilot with the needle on the top groove. It's only been ran at a slow speed on flat ground in my small yard so yet to be tested.
