Anyone tried them? How do they work? Are they better left to the MX crowd?

Well am new to all this forum stuff, so hear goes, I found a old Armstrong 320 frame in the garage the head stock has broken at some point and had been welded up (not a good job) so have decided to remove the lower tube and alter the angle of the forks to give a more modern riding style with better steering. Not to sure if to copy the beta rev 3 angle or just bring in few degrees also whot is the best way to weld the frame Thanks.

Can anyone tell me if there is an alternative solid state ignition system on the market that wil fit straight into a 1973 Mk1 Ossa MAR to replace the troublesome Motoplat system ? I am aware I can get my Stator and HT Coil repaired in Spain, however, I am interested to know where I can obtain Mk1 Ossa MAR ignition parts ?? Thanks Brian H

I'm doing some renovations to my MAR and want to run the ignition wiring differently to where I found it (getting squashed between the bashplate and the engine cases) It seems obvious to run the wiring forwards and up the RH front downtube as I see was done to the MARs I see in photos with Mick Andrews riding. My query is how to route the wiring to the downtube. If I use the exsiting grommet slot directly underneath the flywheel but run the wiring forwards rather than backwards, I suspect it will get just as squashed as it did going backwards from that hole. If I make a new slot for the slide-in grommet at the 4 o'clock position, I fear that I will be weakening the cr…

Hi all: It looks Ossa returns to trials. The news are they are going to produce a replica of the 1970 Ossa MAR and are thinking in some new projects.... maybe a modern Ossa trials bike??? Who knows!

Has anyone any opinion on which is best shocks, Rockshocks or Falcons, I have made an enquiry about some alloy bodied Rockshocks, I know there have been reports of poor service from Falcon shocks, are the Falcons any better than the Rockshocks and worth the wait or should I just go ahead with the Rockshocks. (new to twin shock bikes)

Hi. i've got a twinshock fraser honda 305cc, its been sat around for ages and i've now got some money to do it up and start riding it. can someone direct me to a website that tells me what i can and can't do to it to and still be able to complete in the normandale series? all i can find is this - CLASS B – Machines with Twinshock rear suspension as fitted at the time of manufacture and fitted with drum brakes, not included in Class A. i only have a bit of money so it wouldn't be anything major but i'd be gutted to arrive at a trail and not be allowed to ride. thanks for any help wayne

I'm running a Dunlop tubeless tire with tube on a TL250. It has new rim locks tightened as tight as possible. Looking at the valve stem, the rear tube is rotating on the rim. I assumed this must be the tire rotating but I marked the tire/ rim before last ride and it is not. The valve stem is noticeably angled with only one very mild ride. See pic with line and stem from one ride. The line is from black marker to black marker and not related to raised line on tire. This is strange. Is there a fix? To recenter valve stem, I have been doing a number of deflation and inflation cycles with a tightened valve stem nut and it does straighten out. I had a TY175 do …

A little while back I put new rings in my TLR200 and now she has better compression and more grunt. However my impression is that the engine is running hotter - i have no real way to measure it , it just feels hot. The plug is browny grey and clean. I also notice that the engine idles higher as it warms up and it is harder to start ie: takes more kicks. It stalls easily when cold and tends to kick back much more often than it ever used to. Any suggestions welcome

Doe's anyone remember this shop back in the seventie's, what bikes did they sell? and did they support local ace riders? i think my ossa mar originally came from there as it had the little " castle" stickers on the side panels( it came from burham/ taplow area, we lived in high wycombe at the time!) some pic's would be great if anyone has some? Three weeks ago, while practicing on my newly minted TY, I managed to bottom out the forks. My first thought was that I've been eating too many mince pies, but then I figured it's time to sort the front end so off to the Majesty website I went ... One week later I tackled the same spot (moderate downhill with a 18" drop, then more downhill), and the difference is night and day! It felt like I was being gently lowered down the drop by little cherubs. Now, this was during a trial, and over all the bike felt far more ballanced with the Rock Shocks on the back and it did have a big positive effect on my confidence. Less stodgy, but harder to wheelie for some reason. …

I have a Kawasaki KT250 tank that has rust on the inside and outside and a minor dent. Anyone suggest somewhere to get it repaired and painted! Or replacement tank!!!!!!! Also does anyone know what the engine mod was on the Gollner KT`s

Hi - my 247 was a bit reluctant to start on the weekend so I replaced the plug and away we went. However whenever I stopped to open a gate etc it died, which is not normal then after about 20 minutes riding I left it switched off while I explored some new tracks by foot. When I returned no sign of spark and a long push home. I have removed flywheel, cleaned and checked everything but very very week spark. I removed kill switch and condensor from earth and measured voltage from the stator coil but it is less than .5 volts. Can anyone tell me what the output from the stator coil should read - alternatively how many ohms in a healthy coil. Cheers Andrew

Hi, i have just bought a Montesa Cota 348 1978 bike. Does anybody know the correct 2 stroke mix and any advice on synthetic or regular? I was told 25% but that seems high. This might be a daft question, it has a twin plug head, one central and one offset. Why? Am i ment to swop the ht lead over depending on what kind of riding i am doing? Thanks for any advice. Jim

Hello all Wonder if anyone can help. Having a nightmare trying to start my tr77 mar.The plug is sparking and getting wet but it wont fire at all. The carb is clean and all blown through with compressed air. I took the flywheel cover off to check the timing and found its been fitted with motoplat points ignition.The wires that come off all seem to be original and mate up with the connectors so I wondered if these were fitted as standard. The wires that come from the mag are black,white,green and yellow.I think the black is live as it is the only one that makes a spark but perhaps someone knows better. Cheers Andy
