Help! I have a fiberglass Bultaco 199A fuel tank that is leaking along the bottom edge seems. The tank was sealed at one point in its life with a "Kreem" type product. What is the best way to proceed in resealing the tank: a. Pour a new sealer over the existing one? b. Try and remove/disolve the old sealer? c. Apply resin to the drip edge seam and hope for the best? I poured and flushed the interior several times with Laquer Thinner, although this did a wonderful job of cleaning the tank it did not remove the sealent material. Hi all It was raining tonight so i took my bike down the woods - as i knew there wouldnt be many kids/dogs about. I started it up- put it in gear and let out the clutch. The bike went backwards. I put it back into neutral and tried again and it went backwards again. i thought great a TY175 WITH REVERSE! 2 more shots and the bike went forward. I was out for over an hour and the gearbox and everything else seems fine now. Has this happened to anyone else before. Is my gearbox about to crash Thanks William

I have a pair of Betor 4885 shocks fitted to my fantic 200 I am trying to change the oil but cannot get them to damp in both dirrections without a half inch of free play first, any tips ?

I scored a BSA Victor with a B250 motor and figured I would build a trials bike out of it. I brought the head angle in, brought down the upper shock mounts etc. i am up to the point to set steering stops. My forks (old betor) have 70mm offset and my tank is really narrow. Would 90* be a good point to set stops? I can make thicker bumpers later. thanks. Frank

I have a very old twinshock TY250 in 1000 bits intending to "do someothing with"! - The frame is missing a few lugs from the look of it - what is missing from the right of the first photo? - I want to fit a new footrest kit to it - is there anything missing that wouold stop me from doing so on second photo, and where is best to get a kit - looking for something bolt on preferably, I got one from miller 10 yrs ago for my 175 so similar would be good. - I want to do the majesty mod and lay the shocks down, anyone any photos of the gusseting involved? I am starting to restore a 1974 Ossa 250 MAR and wanted to identify the frame. It is nickel plated, has a built in oil reservoir and metering screw for the chain in the s.a and Dzeus fasteners for the side panels and bash plate. There is no tab for a side stand. I cannot find any numbers marked on the frame, have already had the tip that it is unlikely to be a standard Ossa frame, more likely a Whitlock. Are there any other options ?

Probably a question that's been done to death at some point in the past but has anyone experiences good or bad of using a rear tubeless IRC or Michelin tyre with a tube on a twinshock (mine's an SWM). I've read that grinding some rubber off the bead helps the tyre to seat properly in the rim.

Hi guys ... has anyone tried changing from an Amal ... or similar carb ... to the OKO ? I'm running a 24 year old Amal carb on my Armstrong and can't get the carb. just right ... old age probably ... the carb ... not me...! I'm led to believe some of the better twinshock riders are using OKO on Honda and Fantic. Any info. would be gratefull.

Hi, I've decided to join the twinshock gang and have gone for my teenage favorites. I had several Ossa's as a schoolboy and owned a Gripper back in 1981/2 when it served me well. Trouble is I don't really remember much about the bike and need some help with basic stuff like fuel mix, plugs, gearbox oil etc. Bike is basically ready to ride and hopefully will get its first outing at Oxenlaw on Saturday. I'm looking for an "expert" who can answer my daft questions as and when they arise and offer tips on set up and maintenance. It would also be nice to know how many grippers are being regularly trialed, I haven't seen any in the North East. Thanks, Gary.

Just resurecting one of my ty175's and have just purchaced some new falcon shocks and the sammy miller footpegs, although i'm not aiming to create a museum piece I do want her to be competetive in the twin shock class. I have noticed that one of my 175 frames has been modified, although cruedly to enable the rear shocks to be layed down to a variety of positions. Is it worth swapping frames and if so what is the ideal distance from the original top mount to adjust the shock too? What are the advantages/disadvantages of laying down the shocks and at what angle do you stop?

Never owned anything that's needed things like cases and forks etc polishing. What's the form on getting a good finish, send them off to a pro, buy an Ebay polishing kit for my bench grinder or hours spent with Solvol Autosol? .....or easy clean ali' coloured powder coating...my local powder coaters do a very good fake ali finish.

Hi, New to the forum and trials riding. I have just bought a TY175 which still had it's original tyres from 1979! I'm struggling to find any UK suppliers which actually have suitable replacment tyres in stock. I believe that IRC and Michelin make suitable tyres but can anyone suggest a supplier? From reading other posts I don't think I can fit tubless tyres with a tube as they don't seat proberly?

This is on a somewhat local listing for sale as a "UK" trials bike.Pretty sure it has a non stock seat,but don,t think I,ve ever seen one.Is it Chinese? A friend of mine is interested in it.

Hi, i`ve come across a real gem of a montesa 247, its been sat in a garage since 82 and is totally original although a little rusty in places and the seat has dried and split. Unfortunately the rear guard snapped at some point but I do have the part to piece it. Its road reg and still has the rob edwards stickers on the tank. Trouble is I cant get the thing to start. I`ve done everything I already know it will need. I emptied the tank and filled with fresh premix fuel. Ive checked the points and timing (.40mm gap and opening at 2.5mm btdc). the spark is blue and strong. I`ve completely stripped and cleaned the carb, the choke jet was blocked solid, the main wasnt much b…

Thought you might find this pic interesting. It is Clive Dobson (500t in the Talmag and Scottish) on the 4 stroke Gollner Kawasaki at Horsham clubs Presidents Cup at Plaistow early 80's. I believe only one was made that started off as yellow then became red, apparently the engine wsa pretty standard KL with some KT ratios modified to fit, nice bike tho'.
