Hello All, just completed a 180mile round trip to pick up this Its as far as I can tell a MkIII cota 247 in tatty but mostly complete condition (only the airbox not present) The plan is to get it in a running and into a basically useable condition to do a few white route wobblers trials with my local club, as I want to get back into trials after a 20yr+ layoff (i.e. since I was a teenager) ive got three years of practice time before i'm eligible for the over-40 class . Hi has anyone noticed a very nice ty80 whitehawk on evil bay.... seems too cheap, I remember when they used to sell a whitehawk kit that you added to your existing ty80 ,, they were very expensive as i seem to remember,,! i think it took the wheel size to 17" rear and 20" front,, correct me if i am wrong. hi, hoping that someone can help me out.i ride a twin shock swm gs bike with the modern guys.bike gos like hell,but the brakes suck.they wont lock up on stone roads! they have ebc shoes and i sand the hubs and shoes then clean them with brake cleaner.any ideas before i kill myself on this thing...thanks...johnnyb

I'm sure this topic is similar to asking what type of oil you use, but I'll ask anyhow. I have a Penton/Wassell trials bike that I've been competing with regularly. Right now I have an old set of Betor shocks I took off my Ossa MAR. I want to replace these old Betors with a modern style shock, and would like some opinions from you folks as to what you would recommend. The only thing I do know is I've seen new Betors that didn't make it through a season (bent). And I've read about others leaking. Any advice will be appreciated.

Hi there just bought a "Wassell" rolling chassis but seems more like a Dalesman.It has a very close almost parallel duplex frame with rails under the engine.It has Puch wheels.Looks like MP forks (with bolt-on 'ears' for lockstops). I have a Puch M125 engine for it. My questions are: What's the difference between a Wassell and a Dalesman? Where on the net can you find info on these bikes, can't find much at all.Any help is much appreciated, thanks for taking the time to read this. Mine looks closest to this one: Cheers Loydee

For my sins i decided its about time i got the old Ossa back up and running. Its been sitting in the corner of the garage for the last 10 years while other projects have been soaking up funds (sound familiar?) Now i've never stripped an Ossa before. Plenty of Bultaco's and Montesa but not the Ossa. Anybody know of anything or any special tools i will need? also parts seem almost like the "Holy Grail" always promised but never actually there. One last cycle part i need is an origional airbox. I know i could get one fabricated but would like to restore to origional. Anybody got one holding the shed door open?? So any advice and or location of parts will be greatfully receiv…

Hi, I have a 1977 Ossa 350 trials bike I am about to restore, does anyone have a wokshop manual I could copy, I think my bike is pretty much original but im not sure about the BING carb, also any contacts for Seat re-covering and Tank repair (got a dent in it). any other info, useful web sites etc would also be appreciated. As title suggests, i need help (quite literally) . I have in a moment of madness bought a 1985 Montesa cota 330. Last twinshock Cota i think. Does anyone know if a manual in either english or multi lingo as per 348/349 could be had from somewhere for this elusive model???? Or any other thoughts or comments on the bike.. cheers , S_M.

Hi all looking for the distance between holes on the front wheel stay, dont think mine is right as I went to fit a new cable today and it wouldnt fit think the hole centres on the bracket is wrong. thanks Could have things the wrong way around also, cable adjuster is on back of the fork leg, should it be on the front wheel stay on the front?

I picked up a spare "parts bike" 348 last week. I'm trying to figure out the date of manufacture by the number stamped on the engine, but, the problem is, there is no 51M number [ or any markings here ] stamped on the case below the carb bowl, instead, the only numbers I can find on it are "1313" stamped on the cases at the rear mount / bolt boss. Otherwise, it sure LOOKS like a 348 engine....... Thoughts?

Are the Falcon's self service? the seals blow after about 12 months and it is getting dear to keep sending them back to chirpy Mr Falcon. I can get them re gassed localy but how do they come apart?

Theres is a Matchless G5 for sale locally, the erm 'lightweight' series.... Anyone trialed one, or even know anything about them? I could just use it as a roadbike if it's a complete non-starter...in the trials sense. Bit of a curio thing, pudding basin, goggles , white scarf 'n glass of milk. 1960 350cc single....the fake unit engine one...you know, the one with big bulbous engine cases...similar (same as, bar name tags!) AJS model 8. Or a G2 250cc with 350 AJS 8 engine if you wish.

What twinshock in your opinion will be worth the most in five years time? I'd say of the big three , The Ossa mar should in theory be worth the most as they were the least sold! so would that make them more sought after?

Hi there, Looking for help again please. Need new tyres for my KT and just want to check what size tyres should be fitted. The bike has currently got 3.00 x 21" front and 110 x 18" rear. I think the standard sizes are supposed to be 2.75 x 21 front and 4.00 x 18 rear. The wheel rims are D.I.D 1.60 x 21 and 1.85 x 18 front and rear respectively. Can anyone please confirm that these are the right type/size rims, i.e. factory standard, and what size tyres should be fitted? Also would appreciate any advice on which make of tyres to fit - don't plan on making bike road legal so trial use only tyres required. Many thanks

Both the TY and Cota throttle cables are a little shorter than optimal (ie. route them tidily and you get some revs at right lock - is there anywhere I can shop for cables by length? Or am I stuck using a universal cable kit? IIRC the TY250 throttle cable is longer than the 175, but I don't know be how much - it only needs one more inch
