Hi, Had my bike for a couple of months now and have a few questions for any Seeley owners. 1). There looks like some sort of decomp lever on the top right of the cylinder head. Since buying the bike there has never been a cable to it. Does it need one? 2). What colour is the red used on the frame, and where can I get hold of it in paint form to touch some bits-up? 3) Does the Clymer manual for the Reflex TLR200 1986 -87 cover the majority of my Seeley? (I think mines an 81). If not is there another workshop manual out there you can recommend? 4) Any idea where I can get spares such as throttle cables, etc? Cheers,

I inherited an 1982 TLR200 which was in pretty rough condition and so I went to work on removing the surface corrosion and I purchased VHT ( very high temperature) brand aerosol paint one for the barrel , another for casings and one for the engine pipe. Each paint is specific for their purpose. Now I could never claim to be a perfectionist - but I did my preparation thoroughly bare metal, clean and dry. I dried the paint in our oven (don't tell my wife) about 30 minutes at 120 degrees C. The barrel paint has been fine. The first time I tried to start the engine the carbie flooded spilling fuel onto the casings and the paint just dissolved leaving a hell of a mess. …

im currently stripping a pair of betor forks on an 1981 ossa, however in one fork there was a u shaped clip at the top of the spring and in the other it was at the bottom. Does any body know the correct position or have an exploded view of these forks. thanks.

Hi Just got a 349 montesa cota in pretty good nick, needs a few bits done so I need some advice, Havent ridden it yet but previous owner said the clutch slips a bit and it also seems to drag a bit, sometimes slips while kick starting the bike so I need to know how to adjust or fix this. fork leg is leaking also, what seals do I need and how much oil and what weight should I use? Could do with a fresh set of rings and a small end, where can these be bought? thanks in advance and heres a pic

Anyone knows if there are parts available for the Ossa Tr80 250 model ? Have a change to buy one but can,t find parts on the net for it. Cheers, Ed

I've dragged the old units out the spares box and wonder if anyone can recall what pressure they should be pumped to. I did read somewhere that 200 psi was the figure but that seems more like that for air spring units and i certainly don't think my local Fox dealer had the equipment to pump or measure to that sort of pressure when he set them. I may have had a manual but that will be long gone. Any advice appreciated.

Hi all: It looks Ossa returns to trials. The news are they are going to produce a replica of the 1970 Ossa MAR and are thinking in some new projects.... maybe a modern Ossa trials bike??? Who knows!

Hi, my latest project is getting costly as i have just pressed apart the big end to find the rod is ovaled and knackered. Anyone know where i can get a kit from or at the least a serviceable rod? cheers Dave

Hi All, I've just purchased a 1979 Cota 349 as a first foray into the world of classic trials, after years of motocross and enduros. The bike had been laid up for a few years and the owner claimed that it had been completely rebuilt (whatever that means) previous to this. After putting new oils in the primary and gearbox and fresh fuel in the tank, it fired up, second kick, but it seems very rattly! So rattly in fact that its a bit emabarassing riding it in my back garden! The noise seems to be mostly from the top end, possibly piston slap and small end, but its hard to tell. Should this engine be mechanically quiet, or is a bit of rattle normal? If its not normal the…

hi guys this s my first restore of a trials bike , i must have watched to much kick start as i kid , i have done a number of cars and bike over the years , now for the bike i dont know what year it is or even what cc it is heres a video and some pics and the frame and engine number. engine number is 51m20738 and the frame number is 51m18497

When I got my TLR200 it had all the lights, speedo and ignition switch installed and so I removed all of these except the ignition switch as the mounts had to be ground off in order to remove it. I have just been doing a tidy up and I had triple clamp off and so I decided to remove the ignition switch and what was left of the wiring harness. Now it won't kick - completely dead. I have had the bike complete stripped engine out etc I can get measurable power (multimeter) from black/red lead from the alternator and there is only the green, black/white, black/red and blue/yellow and plain black leads from the CDI - should be simple but even with the kill switch disconnect…
