I would appreciate some assistance on two AJS fronts if anyone out there can help. Firstly, I have a firend with an AJS 16M (mag in the front) engine who is converting it to trials - any ideas on where to get trials cams? I am told that the ex-WD G3L cams are favoured but woud be interested to hear opinions and some help sourcing the parts. Secondly, I have just purchased an AJS 37AT, a 1969 fairly rare beast that was partly assembled by Cotton using the Villiers 37A engine. It was only produced in 1969. I need a chainguard, airbox and left hand side panel or photos of them os I can have them made. Any information on this bike would be most welcome. Cheers,

Have had a problem with my AJS trials tank this weekend (absolutely gutted!!!!!) Where can I get a new one? I would like an alloy one, but a very good copy of an original one in fibreglass would be ok. I'd really like to have one with the original type filler cap, rather than a push and twist one that Miller sells. Any one got any pointers? Names / numbers and indication of price would be very much appreciated.

Just purchased yet another project off Ebay. It was described as an AJS/Matchless 350cc in trials trim for restoration. I my enthusiasm I can't wait for the reply from the owners club as I have applied for membership. So do any of you people have any information on the history of the bike and the availability of parts. There is no tank or seat, and no obvious sign of model number. The engine number starts with 14 CSR, the frame number is a five figure number starting with 13. There is also another number (casting number?) on the rear of the gearbox which is M1071. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks. Eiger.

Sadly as yet no news is bad news and no sign of either the stolen van or the pre 65 parts that were inside has been recieved so not looking good and sadly it is beginning to look as if these were possibly stolen to order which is an option that not only saddens me but deeply worries me as Classic and pre 65 Trials riders i have always thought were a good bunch. In a previous post i informed as many as i could about Alan Whitton having his van stolen and that inside the van was the Bantam rolling chassis he had on show at Telford as a showcase for the parts he sells. Alan didnt have any photos at the time of this but someone has kindly responded to our request for a piccy…

Mine´s on a ROA Super Foxter 200 (1960) that’s not run for about 40 years. Its a Spanish bike fitted with a Villers 197 7E. As far as I know, there´s nothing wrong with the box, apart from 28,000 Km of wear and tear and 40 years of rusting in a barn…Unfortunately, when it comes to the gearbox, I´ve fallen at the first hurdle. From what I´ve read in Motor Cycle & Cycle Trader´s Servicing Data Sheet No. 4 and referring to the exploded diagram (Parts System | EXG074 (villiers.info) the “Bush operating shaft outer” (9) should just slide off the operator shaft (20). But its stuck solid. No amount of pulling, heating or WD-40 has shifted it a mm. Any suggestions on whe…

Hi my Francis Barnet build is coming along now but just having an issue finding a diagram for the albion gearbox. The engine was rebuilt prior to me buying it but there seems to be a few bits missing from the gearbox Does anyone have a exploded view or know where I could get one to identify the parts that are missing? Thanks

Hi guys. Over at my russian bike forum an American user has posted some pics of his latest toy. Its a Rokon 2WD bike. It is fitted with an Albion 3 speed gearbox. Now apparently these boxes are as rare as rocking horse poo over in the States. Can anyone supply me with a list of which bikes had these boxes fitted and any sources for spares. Cheers

Hi, Fuel cap Have seen several pics of beautiful slim ally fuel tanks on P65 bikes, they all seems to have "KTM-like" fuel caps; does anyone of you know if "ready to weld on" ally tubes with threads are available? Or if machining threads by lathe is the only way? Cut loose a plastic cap tube from an MX fuel tank, and fastend/seal it from the inside before the ally parts are welded together, might be possible? Airbox Are any of you using 4-s airbox from Sammy Miller, eg for Cub or B15? If yes, whats your opinion about performance verses KN-like filters, that offering a hard time jetting because of non defined air volume... Regards, Pat

I'm thinking of buying some hubs for my Bantam. I know Alan Whitton does some but others are also available. I'd love to hear peoples comments and suggestions as to the pro's and con's of each. For example, I understand the Whitton hubs require over size brake shoes. Prices would be good too.

Hi all, looking to build up a B40 and need some new hubs. Quite like the look of the billet hubs, where is the best place to get them? I’ve heard they can differ depending where they come from.

hi guys, just wondering about the alloy mufflers a lot of pre65 bikes use....you know the elongated diamond type, has anyone any idea what the baffle arrangment (if any) is in these? i am guessing the inlet and outlet pipes stick well into the 'can' so that the gas has to double back to get to the outlet pipe.....are the pipes perforated any, or just plain. reccon charlie will know the answer as he's built most things to do with the old 4 strokes. cheers trev.
