Hi I’ve got hold of a virtually unused Tx125 (2008) that’s been in storage. I want to convert it to a 225 either using a kit (S3?) or parts. Can anyone advise where I might get hold of the necessary bits? Many Thanks Andy

Just bought my first trials bike, 2022 gasgas with 43 hours. I noticed a couple small drops of fuel in the back of my truck when unloading it after I bought it (petcock off). I worked on some balance in the garage, rode it about an hour, didn't notice any fuel dripping. While working on balance and hopping again in the garage recently (petcock off), I noticed a few more drops of fuel on the ground. Is this something I should address or is it the nature of the beast? I come from a motocross/enduro background. If I ever had a carb leaking fuel it was continuous and it was the float sticking 99% of the time. But it was many years since I owned a carb. Fuel injection an…

I've just popped a new air filter into my Sherco as part of its wash and brush up. The old one was pretty dreadful. It's my first time oiling and installing one. These bikes have a frame to mount the filter on, so I'm fairly confident I've done it correctly, but it's hard to be certain. Removal was a real pain as it's so small inside the airbox, in my frustration, I didn't note the orientation. I would like to be sure that I've installed it correctly. It's a Twin Air and there is a single seam at the top on my install (shown in pic). It's on the frame and clipped in. Looks OK, but I can't see the underside. Pic attached. Does this look right, with the…

Hello all, After washing the bike I went to take the float bowl drain plug out to make sure no water had found its way in. The fuel inside had quite a lot of crud in it. There is no inline fuel filter on my bike and the fuel hose, whilst Sherco branded, wasn't clipped but was incredibly tight fitting. Had to cut it off. I guess I'd need a longer one for an inline filter anyway. Is this typical for a float bowl? The bike is only a year old. I am starting to think it's never been properly cleaned or maintained. Engine inlet manifold (correct name?) from carb was mucky and tight fitting, don't think it's ever been off. Original air filter was dry as a …

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can give me an idea of what the problem might be. Bike is a 2022 Sherco 250 Fajardo. Carb is Keihin. I bought it about a month ago as a good used example. I rode it for an hour, then stored it for around 4 weeks. No issues. Took it out today for a couple of hours. No mishaps, falls or anything unusual. Not sure if any leaks, but didn't notice any smell. Bike ran fine and I'm just a beginner, so it was just gentle riding around, mostly watching my son ride. Drove it home once cooled and put it in the garage. Realised whilst browsing manual for something else, that the petcock position i thought was off, is actually reserve…

Just curious as to other people's thoughts. I am fortunate in owning both a 2021 Gas Gas TXT 250 Racing and a 2018 Beta Evo 300 2T for friends to use. I am a 60-yr old rider with strength issues following a minor stroke. To me, the Evo is very noticeably heavier tho' the internet puts the GG at 67kg and the Evo at 69kg. Although 2kg/ 4.4ibs is a considerable weight if you had to carry it around with you all day, to my mind the difference feels greater than that. Plus, the Vertigo Titanium is listed at 66kg. All that extra money for less than 1kg? Your having a laugh. So, is the difference I notice an illusion caused by frame geomentry and weight distri…

Hi, I’ve recently started a complete restoration of a 1969 Dalesman and am looking for some help. the bike is now completely stripped, the first issue I’m dealing with is trying to find a replacement for the front fork tubes that are measuring up as 29mm and are 525mm long. Does anyone know if there are any alternative tubes that will fit ? Doesn’t seem to be a very common size thanks for your help

Are these not a thing? I cant find a single one anywhere online. I also can't find any threads talking about why they would be a bad idea.

Hello again everyone, Planning ahead a bit for our first adventure on the new to us bikes. Got some fuel mixed, some semblance of a tool kit and bike stand. What I'm missing I think are spares for on the day. I figured a pair of levers would be one item, but are there any other items we should carry with us routinely on days out? We're just beginners, so we won't be riding hard. Thanks

Hello everyone, My son (8) has been learning to ride motorcycles. He's also just recently had his first trials lessons (with me learning too). I'm a lifelong road rider with some experience of dirt riding in Spain, but nothing like trials. I'm a bit indecisive about whether to buy bikes just yet. On one hand, whilst I think I know what we need, I probably don't, but on the other, we're going for instruction, but then can't practice what we are being taught, which isn't efficient considering the cost of the instruction. Our lad hasn't ridden clutched before, but I'm confident I can teach him the basics of how a clutch works, without too much trouble. He …

I wonder if someone could help me a bit. It's been decades since I've touched 2 stroke anything! Two bikes, one Sherco 250 Factory and a Beta Evo 80. Sherco say it needs a 2% premix, Beta say 1.5%. In this situation, can I get away with carrying a single 10L can mixed at 50:1, or should I go 60:1 and split the difference between the two bikes, or should I carry 2 separate cans at different ratios, which I think are 50:1 (Sherco) and 70:1 (Beta)? We will not be ragging the bikes around, as we're just novices. Also, can anyone recommend a premix oil that might suit both bikes (UK based)? Thanks

Use caution when ordering from B&J Racing, he will not follow through on your order. Been waiting for months for a TYY250 skid plate, he never did anything to deliver the order. Just needed the spacers welded on. Every time I called there was another reason why he couldn't do it, from storms outside to just plane saying he didn't want to do it and maybe he would just retire instead. He is happy to take your credit card number though. At this point he should just close down the website and let people know he simply does not wait to be in business anymore, and not mislead people into relying on him for parts.
