Currently have a 4Rt which I've lost all confidence in brake wise so I'm looking for another brand. I don't want to be fettling all the time but I've no idea what would be a good choice. Budget isn't an issue and I'm excluding GasGas as they are frankly rubbish quality.

Anyone ever fitted a battery powered brake light to a trials bike that has no other lights fitted? I have an idea how to do it but would appreciate any info.

  6. Hi all, I ride a vertigo DL 12 2021 and keep snapping the chain the middle of nowhere. As such, I'm looking to buy the strongest chain possible, which appears to be a RK chain. Unfortunately they don't do half links which a vertigo need (a 103 link chain). So I'm think about buying a new rear sprocket to fit a 104 link chain. I don't want to mess with how the bike rides, so does anyone know if changing the size of the rear sprocket makes much difference at all? And on the off chance, does anyone know what sprocket teeth count I'd need for a 104 link chain on a vertigo?

Does anyone have a recommendation for footpegs that are a bit back and down from stock? I've not been able to find anything that looked good without costing the earth, and I don't want to re-weld the mounts

After having a nice chat with SWMBO i managed to convince her that me buying a new ( old ) trials bike would be a good idea. I currently ride my 1936 trial Panther in my local clubs pre 57 series. But I fancy spreading my wheels a bit and doing some modern ( but still easy) trials. Plus I have just applied to join shilton club and it would be a good idea to have a newer bike to dick about on. So I'm looking at around 2010 bikes ( still cheap and there seem to be plenty about). So my question is Which to avoid. I don't intend and probably will never be able to ride up the side of buildings and do stuff like bunny hopping. Its more just for a nice bike to ride at my leisure…

Does anyone know if there is an Optimum width for Handle bars as per Height and size etc ? The reason i'm asking is ....... I'm only 5ft 6ish and after riding a Trials ( Say 4 hours or so ) the outside of my wrists are painful for a few days afterwords. Could this be because the width of the bars are simply two wide for my Height and Length of arms ? Though surely if you have wide shoulders the Height factor will have nothing to do with it ! I'm relatively new to Trials so it could well be that my wrists are not yet used to the bending and Gripping that goes with riding the bike. If anyone does have an opinion on this i would be Grateful as my sore wrists are affecti…

Hi All I have just purchased a 2021 beta 250 and I was wondering what fuel to use, the manual confirms to use a high octane fuel. What is better to use unleaded or super unleaded? Thanks.

Does anyone know of a rebuild kit for 1994 Scorpa 295 carburetor? It's got a Dellorto carb, think it's the original, but I'm not sure. If the rebuild kit isn't available, can I get a different carb? I'm from New Jersey, USA. Thanks & Cheers!

Hi Guys. My lad has a OSET 24R he's coming up to 16, he did have a 2012 Beta Evo 125 but he found it quite aggressive, plus he could do with a right side kick start, he does suffer from hip pain sometimes. So basically he's had a go on my Beta Evo 250 and liked it, but to have a crack at trials he will need a 125. My question is - What is a good 125 with right side kick and smoother than the old Beta, or is a new Beta smoother and easier to kick! Cheers Mark

Hi. I've just bought my first trials bike to get started into clubman trials. I'd like to set up the suspension sag. I have previous experience with setting sag on mountain bike suspension, which is usually a percentage of the total travel. There is lots of information on the Internet for mountain bike suspension set up but I seem to be struggling to find any information specifically for trials bikes set up. Can anyone point me in the right direction of any information that might help me set up my suspension properly. Thanks.

We’re all (in Blighty at least) too polite to call out queue jumpers. But it is so annoying. Which queue jumping tactics rile you most (unless you are a queue jumper yourself…). My top three… 1. Get to front of queue and park bike for a quick look at section then casually nip back in. 2. Steam into front of queue to chat to a mate. Then casually nip back in. 3. Pretend bike has an issue. Then casually nip back in. Etc. Etc. It sucks and those who do it 100% know they are doing it (even if casually!!).
