Hi all, I'm doing my first 'road' trial, The Bemrose Trophy, and wondered what advice and guidance people would give regarding bike set-up, equipment to take, gear to wear, etc. Thanks in advance for all helpful suggestions.

I've been riding Beta for a few years now, 2017 300 for 3-400 hours and now a 2020 for another 360 hours. Prior to that I had a 2015 (I think it was) Sherco 290 (disliked that one) and before that a 2007 GasGas 250 (which I still have but haven't ridden for ages). I'm thinking about stepping onto a TRS RR 300 but it would be a step into the unknown as I have never ridden one and don't know anyone within 300km with one I could borrow. I'm OK with that - there's no "bad" bikes out there these days so I'm comfortable buying one un-ridden - it'll be trials bike, all good. Didn't really see a suspension sub forum so hope its ok to ask here. I am installing some tech forks on my GG. My question is i noticed the rebound fork right side (no spring ) when installed without the fender extends way more then the left fork. Is this normal ? thanks in advance

Is there anywhere that reports on Ladies and Girls in UK Trials ? I thought there used to be a Specific Forum on here ? I've looked on other Trials related websites and I'm struggling to find any coverage ? With Ladies and Girls sports (especially ball sports) being heavily promoted I'm unsure why Trials is lagging behind ? Or maybe i missed something ?

Hi guys im looking to get back into trials after a long time out the last trials bike i had was a brand new 2002 gas gas txt 280 which i loved and was nice to ride but obviously times and bikes have moved on alot. Im looking to buy a bike between 2010 - 2016 and have been looking at another gas gas a beta evo or a sherco so just looking for information off guys that have had or ridden any of these bikes to find out if there's any to avoid for any reason or any that stand out as a really good solid bike they made a particular year ive had a look threw old posts and got a few bits of info but would just like as much as i can before buying something i may lat…

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice, as a total newbie looking for a bike preferably a 250cc due to size and weight what bikes would you recommend? What bikes should I stay clear off? I know this can be personal choice etc just looking for a starting point. Thanks david.

Only started recently but bought 2 bikes inside 2 days by, erm accident, or overexcitment, or moon phasing. Have a Beta 08 Rev3, and GG TXT250 14. I love the GG for its power and handling, the Beta is good in a different way, but its age doesn't help. The GG is a 2 kick bike minimum but the Beta is a Swine. I'm keeping it to get others interested but I have to start it for them. 3" long lever on the left! Who thought that was a good idea? My Beta dirtbike on the other hand doesn't have a kickstart XTrainer button only) . And its brilliant. On a Trials bike, ride to next section. Stop bike. Walk section often on hill. Walk back. In recent years I've only been riding occasionally and only using my TLR. I'm going to get a modern bike again, mainly because some venues are a bit much (for me) for the tlr. I'd like to keep it for the suitable ones. Previously had Beta 4t and loved it, I get on well with 4 strokes, like the low end torque etc.. But i fancy trying 2 stroke again mainly for the weight and a change as the big 60 approaches! Had beta 250 and TRS before, almost certainly going to stick with beta, got 2 v nice to choose from, 250 factory and 300 ss standard both 2017. I found a great deal on a new 2017 Montesa 300RR (already have the identical bike, so just swapping to a new one). The great deal came with one flaw. The tubeless rim hoop on the rear had a couple of spoke tabs that were broken, where it appears the wheel must have been struck. Spokes were all good, hub was good, so just needed a new rim hoop. I tried to buy an entire wheel assembly, but US Honda, Partzilla and others all show the replacement wheel is one backorder, with no estimated date of availability. I was able to find an OEM rim hoop, so ordered and received it. Also bought a truing stand. So tonight, I removed the wheel off the bike, removed the tire. …

Are there any documented gate trial rules? Are there variations? I have seen one type where the first footing means the rider has failed the section. This seems a bit harsh and would encourage very conservative riding.

Hey guys! So, just picked up a 300 txt trials gasgas. Was hoping for a 250 but got a good deal on this 300. So far I love it. for the last 3 days, been working on static balancing so I can start progressing into front hops Today, I just went trail riding on what some would call "hard enduro" pretty much all rocks. Really trying to get the feel of riding on rocks and also practicing slow moving over the rocks without putting a foot down. Very hard to do ha. I would essentially ride my 2 stroke down it, but sitting down with a leg out, trials is forcing me to stand so very different feeling. I would have guessed a 300 made well over 20 but it's not even close. The graphs show how differently trials-specific engines are tuned compared to their MX and Enduro cousins. And given these numbers, it seems crazy how 300's are often considered to be too much for the average rider.

Hi, After selling my gg i”m have a race van built for myself, but now I have no bike at mo I need to get a van garage size to fit bike in! can anyone post the overall length of bike (front wheel to rear) and total height to top of handlebars please? TIA, Ian

Hey there guys this is just a question purely out of interest, I recently started the sport and am absolutely loving it so much fun! I’m intrigued to know what are the stereotypical characteristics good and bads of the different brands eg gasgas, beta, trs, sherco, vertigo? I know a lot is personal preference but just trying to make sense of it all. cheers

Hi just drained the oil on my 14 beta evo I've noticed some of the oil caught the bash gaurd & has gone over the engine casing between the bash gaurd & engine. Now do I let my ocd get the better of me & take the bash gaurd off to clean up the oil or do I just put the drain bolt back in clean up what I can & bite my lip & refill with oil & go riding. Heard some bad stories about bash gaurds being a mare to fit.
