Hey , I’m planning on buying a newer bike, I have the option of a 22 scorpa, a 20 gasser and a 20and21 trs all 250! I currently have a 2012 gasser myself and do really like it! interested particularly on how the scorpa handles as I haven’t swung my leg over one just yet! (I have on newer gasgas and trs) also interested if someone knew how they would all handle comparatively! I believe gasgas have quite a slack head angle and feel nice and stable I like this cheers!

The chain is probably the most ill-treated part of a trials bike. We dose it with mud, dust and water and put sudden shock loads through it, and most of the time it serves us faithfully and well. I have my own system for cleaning and lubrication but I wonder what other people do. My procedure goes as follows: After washing the bike I give the chain a spray of WD40 before putting it away. Unless the chain is looking unusually clean, I take it off and wash it in paraffin, brushing thoroughly and then hand it up to drip. After 24 hours + I refit the chain. On completion of the bike's general maintenance I spray the chain with chain lube. I'm using Mu…

Hi, I have a Xispa X280r from 2009. It needs new brake pads in the rear, and a new gas cap. Does anybody know how and where I can get a hold of these parts? Does sherco parts fit? I know it's a copy of a sherco to some extent, but what kind? The rear brake is ajp by the way. Thanks

I have already managed to burn my leg at header of my gasgas 300 txt when I was riding in short pants so I thought I will wrap in thermal tape to isolate it, any issues with that?

  6. Hello All, Has anyone had to fit a new manifold gasket (spirometal O ring) to a 2012 JGAS 300. I received a new one from the Saunders Trials place today. It fits into the head ok BUT won't fit onto the exhaust pipe. According to info on the web AND going by the part number description, the dimensions of the new one I've got are correct BUT the outer diameter of the pipe is 40mm and the new gasket internal diameter is 39 mm. Is it a case of heating the Gasket up to get it onto the pipe ??? Appreciate your comments / advice, cheers

Hi there been practicing static balancing in my garage. Some days are good others just can't get the tech right. I struggle to get up on pegs bike tips over. If I lean bike against something I can get the balance right. I also find I lean the bike over a little when I have bars turned to get the bike balancing but when bike starts to go over further I can't get it back up to balance even by sticking my leg out. Any tips woukd be appreciated.

  8. Hi everyone! So, my background is about 26 years of riding dirt and street, dirt just focused on trails, never motorcross, my dirt bikes were a XR200 and a KTM 300 (2 stroke). I finally decided that with the type of riding I do (tight woods) I didn't need a big heavy bike and never sat down when riding anyway, so trials bikes started looking really appealing. My little wife has never ridden a bike in her life, but is excited to learn. I wanted to get her started out on a something she can flatfoot on that's light. I was going to do a small XR100 size bike, but I think she could learn on a trials just as easily, but could also grow into it. I'm also thinking…

So I'm thinking about getting a Trials bike , I've been off bikes for around 4 years previous to that was 15 years on Adv bikes mostly off road and I live in OZ , my early years I raced Mx , Enduro & desert , I'm 62 yo and have been hiking seriously for the past 4 years but I'm starting to wear my knees out hence the reason to go back to bikes . But I'm interested in possibly riding a trials bike where I used to hike off track up steep hills over rocks , fallen trees through creeks etc etc following dear tracks and finding wombats 😀 🐾 I do like looking for snakes too 🐍 I just started recently looking and came across a Montesa 4 RT which looks good but I just r…

  10. Just wondering, what do you guys and gals eat days prior an event and during an event? I load up on good carbs and fluids few days before the event, and eat small healthy snacks throughout the day of the trials. Water and something like Gatorade during, water and magnesium before. I used to eat a massive carb breakfest on the morning of the trials, but feeling a lot better with the current, lighter way of eating. I seem to struggle with cramps from time to time on the last 5-10 sections of a trials, other than that I feel pretty good. How about you guys? Always looking for new tips and tricks.

  13. Started by McTrucky,

I am new to trials and have 2012 framed 250 Beta evo. The bike has obvioulsy done some work over the years, so it might be fair to say the shock and springs are not factory fresh. I am just over 15 stone (97kg ish) in my birthday suit - and suspect the bike is designed for someone with a slightly more athletic figure than mine. I swapped the fork oil (now using 10weight) and am happy with the front, but am wondering if I should be looking to rebuild/replace the shock at that age, and if I should be looking for a heavier spring than standard? No great rush, happy to ride as is, but if a second hand unit popped up on eBay, should I bite?

  14. Started by diagnosis,

I was wondering if anyone could help ID a pair of handlebars that came on my Yamaha TY175 when I purchased it. I’ve recently swapped to an OEM set, but curious about the old ones. They have a yellow zinc plate finish. It’s been suggested they may be Bernie Schrieber, or Answer handlebars possibly, but there were no identifying marks other than sticker residue, left over. A photo on the bike just after I picked it up. Mainly just personal curiosity as to what they may have been. Thanks!

  17. Hi everyone I'm hoping someone could help, does anyone happen to know the dimensions of the seals in the Grimeca rear caliper on a 2016 Beta Evo ? I've bought a new piston/seal kit and when fitting it pinched a seal 😞 and don't want to pay £45 for another kit just for the seals. Cheers

  19. Once again another gasser clutch drag problem! Sorry for a post on this topic as I’ve seen it crop up a few times already! I’ve read through everything I can find and done all the checks, new clutch pack ✔️ re bleed with mineral oil ✔️ correct adjustment on master cylinder✔️ Clutch pack measuring within tolerance (9.9)✔️ light gear oil no atf✔️ I did read about replacing seals on the slave? I don’t appear to be loosing any oil from the clutch system into the engine itself so I don’t think this is my problem but I may replace just to eliminate! Does anybody have a link to the exact parts I would need please? Other tha…

  20. I'll try to keep this short. Keihin PWK 28. Completed rebuild on carb, cleaned. Fitted after market idle and mixture adjusters. Also fitted inline fuel filter. Fitted new grips and levers. Fuel was present throughout starting procedure, no leaks as far as I can tell, manifold boots all seated. Play in cables correct at all angles of steering. Initial start with choke bike went to full throttle, did not respond to lanyard. Blipped throttle and bike then returned to high idle. Adjusted idle screw, bike idled normally but slow to return to idle after blip. Believe that will be mixture related. I think the after-market adjusters are slightly different specs…
