Over the last 12 months, I've noticed 3-4 times that come Sunday evening I've developed a serious headache after returning from a trial and wonder if anyone else gets this ? I am wondering if it is one of (or a combination of) the following 1. Bike exhaust fumes; on trials with a large entry and a short loop, people queue with their engines running and you get a lung full of fumes and CO. Especially good if people rev out their bikes before the start of a section 2. Not taking enough fluids on during the trial 3. Crash Helmet too tight ?? (or head too big) 4. Hi Everyone, I have done a few searches on the forum but can't find a how to on starting competing in the sport, maybe i'm looking in the wrong place tho. As a bit of background i'm 30yo and have got hold of a Gas Gas TXT02, the edition model not the pro. The bike came from a friend who works in the desert on oil refineries and when he's back he rides motorcross so the Gas Gas was getting no use. My last bike was a suzuki ts185 when i was 17 and i did woodland trails etc I have stripped it down and done the usual things, chain and sprox, fork seals, cleaned out the carb, bled the lines etc and have done about six hours practise on it now. Do they make Carbon fibre bash/skid plates?Could you use a carbon fibre bash plate/skid plate?Probably the cost would be to prohibitive.Just thinking about the weight savings.

I apologise in advance! I am new to the sport. *Do I need to mix 2 stroke with my fuel? its a 2003 Gas Gas 280. or is it ok to just use normal fuel on its own. *Also can anyone point me in the direction of new brake pads (front & rear) for such a bike too? thanks

I'm looking at a variety of bikes and trying to get my head round what makes them good for a particular task. How would the trials ability of a twinshock compare with a modern trail (not trials) bike? Just curious.

Hi all, just thought I'd show my modifications to my Harley bike lift jack stand so that is suits the Gasser. It should all make sense in the photo's. The ramp is fixed at the front and goes the floor at the back, wheel the bike on, secure it to the tie down straps, chock the rear wheal and pump away with a foot [any foot] and up goes the back end. Have read social-climber's post ref; hydraulic conversions, but unfortunately, this is out of my price-range! What are these lightening devices like? any good? Assume it is geared internally? My fingers tend to cramp-up at the end of a long/strenuous section, and by the end i cant always pull the clutch in..... quite often with spectacular results!!! hopefully fitting one of these will alleviate this!

hi new back to trials at the moment just going to do some praticing but later will do a few events starting easy route and work my way up but will need a new set of tyres x11 seem ott but im sure worth it are the mitas any good as a pair are only just over £100 use to use mt43 and liked those

I hope I'm not the only one doing this... please tell me most of you do it??? Once home from a days ride on our bikes I spend the next 2,3,4 days cleaning and prepping the 2 bikes for next ride! That can be as soon as the next weekend! First off I remove chains as they were getting tiny spots of corrosion from washing bike with them on, then removing. I have made a long tray that holds two chains flat and pour in kero and wash them easier now. Dry in sun when clean and leave in fav lube for a 1/2 day and hang to drip for a 1/2 day. Next is washing the bikes.... remove tail sections, cover air filter inlet (cover ecu area on Cota), plug exhausts, remove radiator shrouds…

Have you had good or bad experiences with your new bikes? Which manufactorers really are the worst for Quality control! With regards to having a problem it must have warranted you returning bike to dealer or spending an hour or more rectifying.

Hi, just wondered if anyone has had any problems with Diadora Stone 3 boots? These were recommended to me by a well known motor cycle shop in Darlington and to my disappointment within 15 minutes of putting them on the stitching had started to come away. I returned them to the shop and when they asked me what I wanted to do and I said I would like a replacement pair or my money back, they said they would speak to the local rep and UK importer for Diadora. It took five weeks and several phone calls later before I had a call to say my boots had been repaired (not replaced). Upon returning home and looking forward to a day out on the bike, I got my kit ready and cleane…

Decals getting a little tatty on the bike after 8 months of abuse so I am getting a new set in the new year. Was'nt looking forward to getting all the old ones off as they are stuck like **** to a blanket but came across ABRO paint remover in a spray can. Simply spray abit on the decal, leave it for 5-10 mins and even the most stuburn sticker/decal will just wipe off, amazing stuff. Does nt seem to have effected the metal or plastic underneath although I have cleaned the areas after quite well incase, saved loads of time. Make sure its used outside though as the fumes are bad and if you squirt it in your eyes by mistake its gonna smart abit.

First, some back story- are you sitting comfortably? Nov '20 I try my first trials bike, a 1971 Bultaco Sherpa 250. It feels really natural, tractable and I decide to get my own bike. Lockdown happens (again) so I don't really start riding until April, but I get a 2001 Gasgas TXT. Love it, but it's tired & needs TLC, so I go newer. Next up is a '13 Sherco ST300. It has a few mechanical niggles but when it works, it's good. I ride through the summer and autumn of this year. But now it's winter and OMG this is a different game. So bikes are getting good press right now with Carl Fogerty winning Im a celebrity get me out of here. So will / should Dougie go for the programme in the future ?. Is this the exposure our sport needs ....or should he stay clear ? Would it do any harm ? I'll take punt that he'll be on it in the future , but perhaps I'm wrong . What do you think

I really enjoyed reading about the adventures of Barry (well except for the finger one). Have you been back on the trials bike? Is your confidence returning? I saw in the "anything goes" section that you are doing a peddle bike something, so that means your not just sitting around. Come on help out those of us that live vicariously through others. Pathetic as we may be.
