Yeadon Guiseley will be holding the first round of the club's Novice Beginners Trial on the First of March at 2PM. Two courses on the main route and a conducted for the little 'uns. After the disappointment of having to cancel the second round of the Club championship it's a welcome return for this much loved venue.

St Davids 2011 12 section done and dusted and all marked out for Saturdays practice and Sundays trial. 3 brand new ones and the rest all heavily modified. Some mega climbs and lots of banks and mud. Forecast is good for Saturday but looking like rain for Sunday. Sections have a good selection of traditional style hazards and a wet day may make the results interesting as if wet then grip will be at a premium Come along and watch Dibs and co get stuck into the sections.

A big thank you to Ian McConnachie and Barry Burton along with all the helpers for a great three day trial. Every one could see how much time and effort had been put in. Chris and Ben both said on the way home there was not one bad section over the three days! how often can you say that?

Here's your chance to get your point over. Let us know where we went wrong, where we went right, any suggestions ideas. From my point of view: 1. Learnt lesson with some of the sections on the banks. The intention of these was to give a bit of variety from all the stream sections, and also to try to create some sections which would perhaps get worse as the day went on, to even up the balance for the first riders, who no doubt get it a little harder in the streams. Some of them turned to sh*t (2 of them really, section 22 and 27). With hind sight, I wouldn't have them. 3's and 5's everywhere, but there you go. 2. Two of the sections in the stream (23 and 24) were altere…

Jarvis is going to take some beating, knows the route inside out. But only a fool would ever bet against Doug. Mind you I don't think for one minute it is going to be a two horse race, plenty of things can happen. Whatever the outcome it should be a great day in the Dales.

Just a quick plug for our trial at Hayes Coppice, Monmouth, on Sunday 2nd August. This will be a round of the Western Centre Trials Championship. The trial is right on the England / Wales border just off the A40 but well worth the trip to ride at this spectacular venue. Phone secretary Sam Wilson for more details - 01242 582930.

After two days setting out and 400 rolls off kitchen towels to dry it out the course for Sundays trial is in fine fettle. Surprisingly after the torrential downpours of late the ground has soaked it up very well and we have 10 sections ready and waiting for you tomorrow. Obviously due to the recent weather we have laid out the sections to be wide and flowing with loads of lines available so no reason to oil that hinge in your bike just Classic style flowing sections perfect for Classic bikes. What more could you ask for? Well the brolly dollies are all busy elsewhere but feel free to bring your own or preferably an observer who will be made very welcome. Start time 11.0…
