Well, today was a wet one, yesterday had been a wet one pretty much for the whole of the South of England. Lebowski, Pete and I met up at Clackett Lane services and then went on to Betchworth Quarry. It is a great place with space for all types and levels of ability. Unfortunately I did not take my camera today, and of course typically with Jon and Pete there to keep pushing me and coach inbetween there were a few places I went up and into that I would not have considdered doing a week ago. Toward the end we just totally freestyled with Pete taking the lead and the two of us following...... Next up Jon took up the lead and made it more and more challenging until I man…

Can I please just say that the so called Addingham Moorside where they are the disputes about the land riding rights is not actualy called (Addingham Moorside). It has bugged me for years now and I have lived in Silsden all my life along with other generations and it is most deffinetly not called the Addingham Moorside. For starters it isnt actualy on the Addingham side of the moor, it is on the Silsden side. Addingham Moorside is actualy sighn posted about a mile further down the road towards Addingham. I think people that dont live around here and dont know what it is called have just called it that because of the sighn a mile down the road that acualy points to the…

I may have missed something, but i thought that outside assistance wasn't allowed at the Scott? Hence why do Dibs' and Shirty's reports both openly talk about changing wheels? Mr Jarvis was excluded a few years ago for an alleged bike swap. Whilst we're on the subject, my wife and my Mum walked the 1/2 mile or so along with our 3 kids (2 of whom pre-school) to see me at the final petrol check, where I am told there were multiple signs up stating "no vehicular access", so imagine their surprise to find a whole host of factory vans at said petrol check...presumably awaiting with fresh bikes/wheels to save the riders the bother of having to change front wheel punctures etc…

Is it me or has the trials content of T&MX reduced. Poor reporting of Ragas WTC win, not a single trials specific item in the new products and certainly less reported in Trials Torque. They are without doubt saving news and reports for trials world magazine. I now only buy T & MX for the trials regs. I must lastly add that I am a fan of TWM, but its success wiull certainly be at the detriment of T & MX.

Hi Guys, well i have just sold my trusty 03 Sherco 290, I just got my best result in a local boxing day trial so I thought it's time to treat myself, I had no idea which way to go, I wasn't to keen on the sherco been 5 speed, massive step from 3rd to 4th so that sort of put me off the sherco's, Anyway I have dived in a bought a 2011 Beta 290, 8 months old and road registerd, I think I got it cheap

Read in MCN (sorry), that the Nanny State are propsing to restrict 17 & 18 year olds to 125cc on the road, even if they pass a test. They can then take a test at 19 to get a restricted bhp licence ( ok for trials). My concern is for the current crop of youth riders, who are looking forward to riding the Scott, Scottish & proper road Nationals when they are 17. Does anybody have any more info on this situation?

Now that trials seem to be moving back towards non stop perhaps it is time to reviw the 125cc restriction. Many lads are adult size by the time thy are 14 and could hapily ride a 250, they are after all permitted to ride motocrossers with much more power, height ad weight than a 250 cc trials bike. 125s do not suit no stop riding and tend to be more expensive and more worn than 250s. Anyone any thoughts? Cheers

Have just acquired a rare aprilia 50 trials of 1981 vintage..... (similar to a fantic 50). It's got the obligatory minarelli motor but the carburations a bit, erm, fluffy! -runs all nice at tick over, ok on full throttle but not so good on the rest. Carb doesn't have a pilot jet, just a main and an emulsion tube. Anybody got a carb of japanese origin (approx 15mm) they would care to pass on for a good price......? Andy.

Is anyone riding at either Shatterford or button oak tomorrow? I've been informed that Shatterford is too slippery to ride after its rained. I'm not sure what the conditions will be like as we've had some heavy showers over the past couple of days. Also I don't know what the access at Shatterford is like, my dad wants to come and watch (being a trials rider himself) but he is on crutches with a broken leg. I like riding button oak but I'm concerned that he won't be able to get down the slope from the road. If anyone has any advice I would be extremely grateful.

Does anyone know anything about the Tottenham Trophy Trial? I'm researching the racing career of J.E.C. Purnell (John), and he was awarded the Novice Award cup for the 1947 Tottenham Trophy Trial.

Hi all, I have a 1999 gas gas txt 249 which I’ve not long bought to get me back into trials. The bike has been great but I bought it with a damaged rear mudguard. At the time I thought I’d be able to get a new replacement easily but I’m really struggling. It’s a massive long shot but I’m wondering if anyone else has managed to track any down? Mine is in red like the attached image. Thanks

Ive got a week booked off work in august and my plans have fallen through, was thinking if any one would be up for finding some where to ride (like shiply glenn) and all booking into a Bed & Breakfast for a night riding in the day, party on the night and then move onto another location?
