Is it just me or are trials getting to hard again???? In the late 80s early 90s trials started getting stupid ,bouncing and backing up ,wich is fine if you are a tenager and go practicing two or three times a week ,but a lot of us normal guys only ride at trials ,alot have nowhere to go even if they had the time to , anyway in those days my local clubs went from 60+ entries to barley 20 . Are we in danger of doing it again ,I rode today in the clubman class and the magority of sections required a bounce or hop,I cant do that am i just to old or is my entry money no good/not wanted. at least i can still keep up at the pub

  3. Come on then !! There was talk of the next tc trial awhile ago and then nothing, are we going along with the new labour style spin on everything nowadays?? who knows wot is happening , is this site starting to get overly pc in that it provides what the importer dealer network wants info wise and discourages that "rebel" talk?? Im sure its just me , but everything seems to be getting a bit tame?? I demand to know what has happened to the so called riders forum trial , which in its infancy was hailed as the internet movement gathering pace and putting on real events and providing more importantly a trial for real peeps with real drinking and riding in conjunction with t…

Hi, Here goes, I have never seen any trials apart from the pro stuff on tv and youtube. The thing is, I don't know if I have any ability to go and join in a trial, if so, what level/experience? Ive put up a video of me on the area near my work, but its more sort of moto X/Enduro. Anyway honest feedback and if so, places to join in. wakefield or Wiltshire/Hampshire. thanks, Paul Video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW2mP13dxuY

at the recent school boy champs i rode i got told by club sec of dunfermiline john davies i was unable to claim championship pionts as i did not ride the designated a route in actual fact i did ride the a route but 1 particular section was dangeorus and i spoke to the observer and he said i could miss it out for the 5 and carry on but john davies said i did not ride the a route and so got no championship pionts i find this unfair as i am a novice b rider who has been at the sport for about 6 months and gave the a route a go and found it hard as i usually ride the b route at my local club and thought id done well giving the a route a go and finishing it but i go…

It's been kind of bothering me for ages but how do you actually pronounce his name? Is it 'Day-bill', 'Dab-ill', 'Dabble' or something else? Anybody actually know? And yes it's Monday, I've got too much to do but I'm bored.....

  8. Sorry venting frustration and was wondering if anyone else had this problem I called a club secratary from A motorcycle club asking about joining the club and riding the club competition which they were holding within the next month and was told it was closed to club members and as i had not observed any of their trials this year "dont bother even turning up" I have only been back riding 3 months Do they have that many members they can afford to turn them away?

My local 'Classic Bike' shop has closed where I used to buy, a stick on background (BSI Approved !) and compact (read small) letters for my reg plate. I haven't needed to make a bike plate since this new law about producing a V55 and no stick on letters came in. What's the crack ? Are there any dealers around that will still sell this stuff. or are there any other suggestions for creating the plate - not looking for it to be legal, but maybe a bit bigger than the plate that MarkyBoy sports on his Scorpa

As I sit here nursing yet another motocross related injury - broken collar bone this time , I,m seriously considering a change to trials and have a couple of basic questions 1) Is 55 too old to start ? lol 2) What is the ideal starter bike , I have a decent budget around 3.5 / 4 k on the basis that I,m conversant with both fitness and bike preparation this seems a good move to me but would welcome any thoughts / advice / info etc am based in the Heathrow area

Where's the best place to spectate at the Scott? Despite living reasonably close, I don't know the area very well and I've heard that the roads around the more easily accessible sections get very busy so it's worth making the effort to hoof it a bit. Can anyone recommend somewhere to park up that's within reasonable walking distance of at least a couple of sections (I'm assuming that non-competing bikes aren't allowed)? Would the paddock be a good place to start or would I just be adding to the congestion?

OK, now that the ladies have settled their off-topic dispute with handbags at dawn, does anyone have any sensible comments on the perception that scottish trials might be in one of their downward trends following the huge influx of newcomers after the Foot and Mouth epidemic. And could it be that the lack of trial previews, reports, results, and general scottish chat on TC and on SACU and some club websites doesn't help to retain interest in the game or give inspiration to would-be competitors?. Slapshot3 suggested that changes in club personnel might have a lot to do with the information shortage, is this a new generation type thing?. Most guys of John Collins e…

I think that if you look at the comments after the wallace re marking then someone needs to grasp the nettle and say what is and is not a 5 clearly, explain and if necessary during practice demonstrate this to the riders observers and officials, otherwise inconsistences event to event, observer to observer, will create a situation which far from helping the BTC will ruin it before no stop is given a chance to work or not.

Any chance of a clubman route on the Colmore next year. I rode last year, and found it to hard. I was secretly quite happy when I ran out of petrol and got overtaken by the people pulling up the pegs. I would like to ride again this year, as it is by far the nearest national to me, but will have to give it a miss if it's just one route if I am being realistic. It wasn't a Novogar round last year, so could it possibly go to 2 routes?

Hi, I'm gonna try and get there. I knew nothing really about this until I just started digging .... 80 miles, 76 sections, 2.5hours ..... good grief !!!! Can anyone tell me exactly where it starts/finishes and where the best subs are for spectators ..... we really can't cover it ALL. Any info/help greatly appreciated.

Firstly i have no connection with back cowm whatsoever apart from turning up paying my tenner and riding my bike.... I went at the weekend and spoke to one of the chaps who runs it. I am aware that there is an inquest ongoing and do not wish to comment about it and suggest we all avoid that particular point for the time being. However the guys who run the place are evidenty quite depressed about the current situation and do not know what the future holds for them. They are however, in my humble opinion, trying to run a quality, legal and enjoyable practise area for us to use. With the potential demise of addingham moorside this place (MORE THAN EVER) needs our support o…
