Dougie Lampkin Experience I know our very own Andy and Kinell are going to this on Friday and will surely produce a full report and pictures but I thought a quick report for those attending later in the week would still be worth while. I and a few friends attended the school on Monday and had a great time. The school itself was of limited value to me as a rider (personal opinion) but a great day out all the same. I had hoped to work with the instructors on techniques that I felt I was struggling with but the group sizes and mixture of abilities made this unlikely from when we arrived at the first section. Morning Session We were first split in to two groups based on …

Had my arm twisted to take my lad to the Euro Round Is there any camping on-site at Hawkstone for non-competitors ? Or any good campsites nearby with availability.

Hi, I'm looking for a trials school in the UK to try and get from my current lowly level to something approaching just plain bad. Steve Saunders next dates aren't til September and can't make them anyway. Any suggestions to the UK or close in Northern Europe as I fancy a trip away, most welcome. Thanks, Rob.

I know it is only a club trial but are there any results out for the last IDMCC club trial. Not that there is anything to win, it is just nice to know how you did. No point in using punch cards if you never get the results. Not having a go as I know all the behind the scenes work is volunteer but !

Wow, what a trial, absolutely brilliant. The Clubman route was spot on IMHO, a few entertaining/exhilarating numbers with plenty of tamer sections to balls up in between. The ride round over senic hills & moorland is always a highlight for this southerner, particularly the last loop on Sunday approaching that teaser - the Worlds Longest Section. (Perce - is that the Grouse Moor?). I was also fortunate that both my riding buddies were gagging for a go on the 200 - selecting the moment perfectly, I handed the bike over on the final run into the Punchard section........ Anyway, top do. Great thanks are due to all the organisers, observers, & CoCs and nice to see …

  13. The Saunders trials school was absolutely superb, it was even better than last year, which took some doing! I'm hoping to put photo's on the gallery sometime today (just waiting for them to be emailed to me). The venue this year was unbelievable, set in a great piece of woodland - it had steep rocky gulley's, steps of all sizes, huuuuuuuuge steep sided banks, a bit of Yorkshire mud and loads of fast winding trails between sections. We had hot sunny weather, which made the going pretty tough at times especially when Steve made us ride a half-mile gulley twice! He said that it would be good practice for The Scott !!! Steve's method of teaching was brilliant as per last …

We happen to be in Devon the weekend of the 14th/15th August and if I remember rightly there is a British Championship round there that weekend (coincidence that isn't it). Can anyone tell me where it is being held? Thanks Andy

In the recent world mountain bike round at Fort William, well known female trials rider Maria Conway came 12th, beating many seasoned proffesionals from around the world, having previously done 4 or 5 downhill races (not world championship races, i hasten to add). I guess flying across the moors at the SSDT really does sharpen the reflexes. The men's winner averaged 38MPH, (yes 38MPH, on a mountain bike!!)
