Work has started on our round of the 2012 British championship. We have changerd venue to Nevis range, venue of the last 2 world rounds. We wont be using the route used by them up by gondala station but have a bran new unseen and unused burn.Never seen a trials bike in it. All natural sections perfect for the new rules with a man made final section in car park. Not a big lap but we are very hopefull of getting use of a minibus to shuttle spectators between the 2 groups of sections. The land is owned by forestry commision and nevis range so there will be a few strict rules in place regarding speeding on tracks and no illeagal practicing.Does anyone know when the list of riders …

The calendar has now been sent out - and I see it has been copied form Bob Mullis site. It was also sent to TC at same time if not before! The Championship conditions/regulations are about to be sent to the Organisers - and a little tweeking may be done to a few over next few days. The British Solo Chamopionship Conditions/Format etc will not be finalised until after meeting with Orgainisers in Dec. Champ riders and top 6 Expert Class will also be invited to meetings along with Importers etc.I can confirm that Brit Champ - both Champ and Expert Clas will include a 125cc class next year. Just a few other things prior to condition confirmation - mostly as discussed at r…

Just seen the results from the Hillsborough Club's trial last Sunday and noticed that a certain Tony Scarlet won the Expert route. Good to see him back after all these years.

  6. Time for a rant. I feared the worse when I saw the East Midland Centre calendar for today. Our usual club volunteers were on national duty (Bemrose Trial) so I stepped into the breach to run our club trial. Guess how many riders turned up? Eleven, yes ELEVEN, so I had no option but to cancel the trial. No wonder really when you see the calendar. In the East Midland Centre today there were no less than FIVE CLUB TRIALS all of which were going to clash to a greater or lesser extent with each other. Dales Classic (OK its pre-65 & twinshock, but a handful would have turned up at our trial if there was nowt else on), Pathfinders & Derby, Pegasus (Grantham), S****horpe …

I am currently producing a spreadsheet/database system using MS Excel which simplifies the task of entering the scores and producing nicely presentable data for the entrants/website. The system uses the LOOKUP suite of functions in MS Excel which scans a list of names which you can call up using a drop down menu and adds them to your master list putting in, class/machine & club automatically. No manual entry is required. After this is done, at the end of the trial, the only thing needed to enter is the results from each section and when thats done, This Sheet is automatically generated. No manual sorting or anything is needed. There are times when peeps either ret…

Hi, We're aiming to venture up to the Scott at the weekend ..... really looking forward to it. Perce, you did a great spectator route last year, any chance of another this year (I appreciate you're probably just a tad busy, but if you do get chance we'd be grateful)? Also, anyone got a map link showing where the start is? Thanks

I'm currently working up in Durham and spend a lot of time in the Pity Me area of the city. When I was riding the Youth scene back in the glorious 80's I did quite a few meetings at a farm (?) in Pity Me and one thing that is still clear in my mind is the awful stench that came from a nearby Chicken farm/factory. The thing is I cant remember where the trials were held. I've spent hours driving round the place after work over the past few weeks trying to find any familiar landmarks but seeing as though we are going back 20 years I guess a lot of the area has changed. Do any of you know the whereabouts of the place I mean? Sorry it's a bit vague but I dont have any more i…

Might I draw your attention to this https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/motorcycles-implementing-eu-regulation-1682013 , the relevant part being the application of type approval to trials motorcycles "used on the road". Those used purely in competition will be exempt. There seems to be a complete lack of understanding that the two are not mutually exclusive and that type approval for bikes used in road trials will apply. There are few enough of these events as it is but we don't want to see any, particularly the SSDT, disappear due to lack of suitable bikes. Perhaps a public response pointing out the anomaly might do something. I note that the ACU are not…

  18. I see from the coverage on Facebook and ACU, that this last weekend's Devon round, had only 1, yes.......a single Championship Class rider and that was Iwan Roberts What is going on ? (I know Covid) The Trial2 and Trial Expert Classes & Trial 125 were well supported So is this what the British Championship has become? Too many classes, no blue riband British Champion?
