Hi im new to the forum and quite new to trials aswell i have been riding about 18 months, i currently have a gas gas tx320 which i have been getting on relativley well with but now have it in my mind that i want a newer bike ( a 250/290 aronud 2006 ) to help my learning. the question is, is it worth the money or is the difference in weight, power etc going to go unnoticed by someone with little experience. thanks tim

Any Kent trials riders out there that can recommend a good, friendly club? I live in Sittingbourne and want to get back riding after a 2 year lay-up. Only problem is, my old riding buddies have hung up their boots so I'm looking for like-minded Kent trials riders to meet up with. Anyone in Sittingbourne or nearby want to meet up at a club trial so I'm not a Billy-no-mates? I used to be an OWLS member, but all the trials were always over in the Tonbridge direction which isn't that local to me. Can anyone out there recommend a more local club that holds club trials on a regular basis? I spoke to the Sittingbourne Trials club some time ago, but I was told they don't ho…

Heard something recently about an insurance scheme where your car has some kind of black box fitted that records the mileage you do and what time of day you drove. If it could be done with bikes it could be a cheap way for younger trials riders to get legal. Just riding on the road in daylight hours for say 20-30 sundays a year, 25 miles a time wouldn't put a lot of miles on your record. How it could be turned off for trials without road use may be a problem though! Mark T

Hi. Ive just finally managed to get a registration number for my 97 scorpa 250. Crikey they make it hard work dont they. Here is my tale of woe!!! First I call birketts to ask for advice, he tells me trials bikes are exempt from Type Approval and SVA inspection. Then i ring the dvla to find out whats involved in getting a reg number. "Whats a trials bike" they say, so i have to explain it to them. It took almost an hour to make the guy on the phone understand what i was doing. He tells me that i need to get insurance, then an mot, then fill in a form (V55/5) and take the whole lot to the local DVLA office in preston and get the tax disk. Thats when i will be issued …

Its nice to see tha acu take on board problems and deal with them - NOT! Just been back home for dinner and had a quick read through the selected riders list, 17 on the british championship course, 5 or 6 on the masters, 29 on the expert route, 5 riders from youth. with 9 in priority order for the reserve list - Which includes riders such as Richard Timperley, Nathan Wrigglesworth etc - who both, i will admit are better riders than me! So how does the ACU board select these riders, is it on merit, previous results etc, because i find it hard to believe that Maria Conway can be accepted straight on to the expert championship list, and Richard Timperley can't, Th…

I have fond memories of rushing home from school to watch kickstart on the TV in my youth. With the events going on at Hawkstone I began thinking if perhaps it was time something like this was done again. What do other people think?

Firstly i have no connection with back cowm whatsoever apart from turning up paying my tenner and riding my bike.... I went at the weekend and spoke to one of the chaps who runs it. I am aware that there is an inquest ongoing and do not wish to comment about it and suggest we all avoid that particular point for the time being. However the guys who run the place are evidenty quite depressed about the current situation and do not know what the future holds for them. They are however, in my humble opinion, trying to run a quality, legal and enjoyable practise area for us to use. With the potential demise of addingham moorside this place (MORE THAN EVER) needs our support o…
