It has been an 'easy' winter this year, wet and miserable rather than freezing hard - so the midges are out and about already this year. There are dozens of very expensive anti-midge sprays, etc... but they don't always meet their advertised claims. However, if you are prepared - there is another way to ward the little buggers off. Many will be aware that Trials Central has provided and operated the official website for the Scottish Six Days Trial since 2015. By mutual agreement with the organising Club, that arrangement has now come to an end. The Club were keen to take the site back in-house and, for me it was an awful lot of work with SSDT week itself being a non-stop run of 16-hour minimum days. I don’t even do that kind of hours for the job that pays the mortgage! It had become an obligation more than something I enjoyed doing and when you stop enjoying something, it’s time to move on and do something else. Dear All, Help! Has anyone been able to take out competition insurance recently? After Carol Nash discontinued their comp -inclusive cover last year, I had a frantic 2 hours ringing round every insurer I could find on the internet until eventually Bennets said they would cover competition usage along with TPF&T - I confirmed at leat 3 times on the phone converstation I had, that the policy covers road use in between sections whilst on the road. Then, when I come to check the policy 1 month before riding SSDT I discover that competition usage is specifically excluded. Does anyone out there have any good photos of the P S Chamberlain Trophy from the SSDT ? Also can anyone tell me the year and model of the bike used to produce the trophy ? Many Thanks

Just out of interest have the commitee ever considered getting some sort of tv coverage? I have recently dicovered the program "blood sweat & gears" on the extreme sports channel which covers loads of different british events, mx, enduro I even saw some trials on there at one point. Obviously there would be some sort of cost involved so may not be viable. just wondering

While the top guns and young kids are just getting started, today's the day where the clubman riders start to look a little worn out. Some even wonder if they can last three more days? With that comes my shot of the day. Again, if you're not a TC supporter, pay up or you're out of luck.

As with a lot of the bigger trials the entries are by ballot. Is everyone in the ballot? are there seeded riders? Who's in and who's out. As always all the well known names are on the first list. Imagine Lampkin or someone like on the reserve list and not getting in. Would this be possible? Is the system a fair one? I've no axe to grind, just something I've been thinking about. Hey All I have the opportunity to visit Fort William during the SSDT this year. Sadly I can only do one day but I have a choice between, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Which is the best day to spectate? And where to go and at what times? The official website has given me some very good info but a few more opinions would not hurt the situation. Ideally I want to see some interesting sections and see some of the bigger names but most of all have a great day. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Just wondering. Back in the Good Old Days manufcturers used to debut new bikes or developments at the Scottish. Sometimes the paddock was the place to catch the first glimpse of next seasons "must have" ? Just wondered if anybody "knew" of anything
