So far we've got eleven SSDT payments into our bank account, and only seven of them can be identified. Already four people have sent their entry fees in without a reference to tell me who they are or who their payment is in respect of. Can I just remind everyone that if we can't identify that a payment is yours, you will lose your place in the trial. Come 15th February I'll be going through all the statements, matching off all the payments we've got with the entrants, and if I can't match your payment with your entry fee then you lose out. No excuses accepted - it's your responsibility to put a reference on your payment. I have neither the time nor the inclination to…

Be advised the main A82 trunk road will be closed at 10pm tonight between Tarbet & Ardlui (Loch Lomond). The road will not reopen until 0600 on Saturday morning. The main diversion route is via Inveraray on the A83 trunk road. There will be no closure on Saturday or Sunday night, but from Monday until Friday next week the road will be closed at 2200 and will reopen at 0600 the following day between Tarbet & Ardlui (Loch Lomond). For more info visit www.trafficscotland.org.

Many will be aware that Trials Central has provided and operated the official website for the Scottish Six Days Trial since 2015. By mutual agreement with the organising Club, that arrangement has now come to an end. The Club were keen to take the site back in-house and, for me it was an awful lot of work with SSDT week itself being a non-stop run of 16-hour minimum days. I don’t even do that kind of hours for the job that pays the mortgage! It had become an obligation more than something I enjoyed doing and when you stop enjoying something, it’s time to move on and do something else. This is a totally amicable agreement and the Club have full access to everything on…

As I've just come across this on UK TV Play, I thought it worth a plug here. It's the humorous story of his attempt at the SSDT back in 2017, aided, abetted and lambasted by James Burroughs, with a supporting cast of James Burroughs' Dad and Ross's Tour Manager, who make up an excellent double act in the van!

A lot of hype over mr lampkin this year , loads of videos floating around about his prep and stuff and he’s looking real sharp , after dabills cruel luck last year I think he will be very hungry for the win , who else could be in the mix , my top 3 is lampkin pushed close by dabill and then long shot a top national lad maybe dan Thorpe /Richard Sadler

The trialscentral.com DVD is now complete and I'll start taking orders next weeks. Again it's being offered un-copy protected for a small fee which only covers our very basic production costs. To make the order process easier for us to keep track of (we don't have a full time business here) ordering we be done via a buy now offer on ebay with payment via paypal. Again two camera men spent the week on bikes filming and getting very wet. The format will be much the same as previous years but due to the poor weather this year there is no helmet cam footage. The video tries to capture the whole event from sign on through to the award presentation but focuses mainly on sectio…

An article that I've read says that a New Zealander rode in the Scottish in 1969. I'd like to find out who he was. Would anyone have the results for that year so I can try to identify him? Thanks Peter Christchurch, N.Z.

Should I ever be lucky enough to get a ride in the Pre 65 Scottish, and as my Cub wouldn't be popular, can the panel of experts, Chaired by Big John, please put this machine through scrutineering The carb is made by Mick Uni ( the well known ex pat) and they were around in the 60's I believe? Tony

Despite watching/riding the SSDT most years since 1985 we've never been to watch the pre 65 so this year we're going up earlier. Can anyone advise on what sections to go to and what the route is or has it not been published yet? Apologies if this has already been discussed but can't find it if it has. Thanks
