Hey Cope or any others in the area, I have a very good friend who left CA yesterday to tow a trailer and car out to Florida. I woke up this morning to see his distressed email wherein his truck caught fire about 100 miles east of El Paso. He got the fire out, tried to call AAA but had no Cell service, no one stopped for four hours until another rig pulls up ON FIRE! The owner of the rig lives 30 miles away from there so I'm hoping they got to his place. I'm trying to get in touch with him now. If any of you are in the area or can offer some assistance it would be greatly appreciated. My friend was very down on life before the trip and he's heading out to the east co…

It is with heavy heart that I report our friend, "Colonel" Mark Hogan has passed away. Plonker's past president will be remembered as a very entertaining, outgoing, inspiring, & fun loving guy who we always looked forward to spending time with both on trials weekends as well as fast bike weekends. Believe it or not, Colonel joined and rode with Team Full Monty on many dual sport rides and he kept right up with "our pack" as we blasted past the rest of the riders both on fire roads as well as single track in places like Kennedy Meadows, Big Bear and the Mojave Desert. Most of you might remember Colonel as the 'exessively large' man riding around the Californi…

I have a somewhat unusual request. I've had a Trials related e-mail relationship with a young man who recently passed away. His widow contacted me about finding a good home for his favorite Trials bike, a 2002 Pro (Jordi Pasquet's as I remember) and I said I would help her find a good contact. She lives in northern central Illinois in a town called Utica. I thought it might be in the NITRO club area but was not sure. If there is someone in a club in that area that could help her and maybe help a new rider find a bike, I'd greatly appreciate it. You can PM me off the forum. Thanks. Jon Stoodley

After a so- so 1st round in Spain some of us wondered if maybe far too many quality events were missed for an American kid to be in the mix,but after a quick week of adapting Pat and his wonderminder put them right in the hunt . All I can say is WOW and all other superlative words you can think of. I challenge EVERY North American TRials fan to spend a minute and shout out with a huge Sherco thumbs up for them to go out and rock and roll the Junior class Sunday . Un believale a CLEAN DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is with great regret that I announce the passing of Allen Guyot from KS. age 53. Allen was a personal friend of mine from the trials scene, and a great guy that held much history in both national and regional levels dating back to the 80's as best I figure, possibly beyond, yet far beyond my time in the trials game. A very skillfull rider whom often dominated events ! Such a great fellow rider and promotor of trials! Reports are that he passed in his sleep prior to the event in OK last weekend. He will be missed by many, my comments are but a pittance! Gods Speed Allen! I will miss you!

Take the 2 top US Trials Riders, Pat and Cody and at their current ability with their current bikes. How many years back would we have to go (and everything else being the same in that era, bikes, riders, etc.) for them to be top 5 World Riders? Or better yet, World Champ?

After hearing about Eric Storz's accident I've been rethinking my opinion of a full face helmet for trials. I'm mostly concerned about my young nephew who is just starting out in the sport. I saw Eric and some other young riders wearing full face helmets in competition this year but I never thought to find out what kind they were. Does anyone know or have any opinion on this subject?

You are cordially invited to send your friend request in to join the Plonkers Trial on Face Book. Comments are welcomed and although I am not the moderator I will be happy to address any complaints with the flair you've all come to know and love. (For newcomers, you may not always get a politically correct response] The Southern California Plonkers have long been the world leader for trial setup and party etiquette therefore it is only natural that we become the world leader on the face book front. Cheers
