It appears from the following post on the TTC website that no Americans will be able to contest for World Round points this year , which is very disturbing considering the time and "negotiations" that were had at the NATC meeting. By a concensus of majority it was decided to have the Pro's ride the WR sections, now apparantly that has been reversed! (One final note, it has been decided that the AMA National Championship for our Pros will ride on the blue gates during the Trials World Championship (corresponding to the same splits as the Junior World Championship) as the most appropriate level of difficulty for our national. Hello all fellow trials community. I had a 1985 Honda TLR250 stolen on 8/13/17 in the Columbus, Ohio area. The bike was restored with many upgrades and it looked "show-room" new. I cannot express how distraught I am. There are very, very few of these bikes and my hopes are it will eventually "show" up for sale and/or be seen...even if it is years down the road. So, please tell your friends and plant a seed in your memory and if you ever see a TLR250 (not a Reflex), PLEASE take the time to take down information that may assist me in recovering it. gawnej@att.net

Hey all, wonderful time at the world round in Duluth. If you missed it, too bad on you, but there will be opportunities to see highlights. I spent the weekend with the Speed crew helping them get good footage for the 2-wheel Tuesday show on Speed Channel. It will air on Tuesday, June 15 (week from today), 8PM EDT and reair at midnight and again the following morning. They got a lot of great footage and interviews, and I think we'll get extensive coverage of trials on that show. The Rhode Island Trials club is working closely with the AMA and the FIM in an effort to secure a United States World Round in Exeter, Rhode Island in 2015. We have developed a good working relationship with the FIM over the years and have put on several World Rounds, the last being 14 years ago in 1999. We are really excited this year as we now have, for the first time, a US representative on the FIM CTR committee ---- Martin Belair, a long time friend of Rhode Island Trials Club. I just discovered there were such a thing as trials bikes the other day. I've had a few mishaps on my dirt bike and someone suggested a trials bike to really develop balance and technical control. Checking them out online, they look like a lot of fun. I really would like to get one. Around here though, it doesn't seem they are that popular. I think the closest dealer around here that has them is about 3 hours away according to a trials bike website. I was curious what are good prices for used bikes. Hell, even brand new bikes I have a hard time figuring out prices. Found prices for some new honda trials bikes like 10k.... is that about what the new ones go for (seems rat…

Let's say that are a highly competitve, sponsored motorcycle rider who is ready to retire from competition. Let's also asume that you have been sponsored for all of your professional career. I'm guessing that the amount of support you would have been accustomed to would be greatly reduced therefore you would want to choose the most dependable and reliable motorcycle available. What trials motorcycle do you supposed you would choose?

Happy New Year! Here is one new years resolution for the US Motorcycle Trials Association members (and you should be one): we need to get to work on the committees for competition rules and club resources! The competition rules committee will include rules for scoring and section marking for a competition event for clubs, which will be submitted to the AMA for approval and inclusion in the AMA rulebook. This committee (or perhaps a subcommittee of it) should also develop guidelines for defining names and skill levels for classes (as is done with enduros & other forms of motorcycle competition) that can serve as a suggested standard for individual clubs. So, as a working man, there is no way I'd ever be able to make it to all of the nationals in one year. Being from PA, the west coast rounds are totally out of the question vacation time wise. Does anyone think that rider participation would go up if there were separate East and West coast series? Maybe with an east vs. west shoot out at the end like in Supercross or something? I'm just throwing it out there for the sake of conversation. Lets hear some other opinions!

Any suggestions on where to ride in the Moab area? I'm heading out to Utah the end of September to do some mountain bike riding and I'm thinking of taking my Montesa. Are you allowed to ride a trials bike on the slickrock trail? What other areas are available? thanks in advance

Afternoon, I’m new to trials, not to vintage racing or trail ridding. I’m in the middle of replacing all four of my trials bike tires. I’m not “ stuck” on any one brand name. So I just ordered a set of really soft Michelins for my Ty175. Was riding a new Beta trials around the lot and couldn’t help but notice at just how sticky the tires were on the Beta trials bike. So I ordered a set. Michelins I’ve got new but older Dunlops, been on my shelf for a couple of years. Those are on a stock TL 125, seem fine but not as sticky as the new Michelin trials tires. im in need of new trials tires for a new to me, Honda TLR200. Keeping my options open, any sugges…

All praise goes out to Beta's Ronnie Commo III. Ronnie made the main event this weekend in South Carolina. Riding two classes, Ronnie logged some 20 laps on the track. His speeds were nearly identical on both bikes. Phil and Ronnie had an epic battle in both the Trialscross main event and $Dash-for-Cash$. Phil took the win in the Trailscross. Ronnie slipped by Phil after a silly crash to edge him in the money race. Ronnie finished 2nd, Phil 3rd. The winner opted out of the main event (why, we still don't know) - opening up a spot for Ronnie. Hi All, I have been thinking about something - I would appreciate if you could tell me all the reasons it can't work. Quick background - I am a newbie, have been riding an electric trials bike for about a year (awesome as I can ride it in public parks/woods but limited performance vs a gas bike), never owned a gas trials bike before. I owned some dirt bikes when I was younger so I can take them apart and put them back together without too many parts left over. Now that our American fans have had a chance to see just how well the Europeans go on the 125cc machines. Maybe now there will be a renewed debate on the importance of keeping our kids on 125's and the need for a 125cc national title. That is if we ever hope to have an impact on the World Championship again.
