I'm making a strong effort to bring WOTA's web site back from the dead. The webmaster (ie 'me') kind of lost interest for awhile. Well he's back and committed to improvements. First improvement: a WOTA specific forum. All riders are welcome, but obviously the focus is on the lovely upper midwest. No doorway into it yet from the front page, but that should be fixed by next week.. http://www.wisconsintrials.org/phpbb/ -- Regards, Bentley Wolfe Senior Escalation Engineer, Flash Macromedia Webmaster: http://www.widualsportriders.org/ http://www.madisonmotorcycleclub.org/ http://www.wisconsintrials.org/

The fact that Cody won this year is a bit of an emotional topic, to myself and possibly others that have followed him through the years. I am not quite sure what happened, but Cody found himself, aside from all other goings on. And I do not think anyone would deny that, and still all the others on the long history of the Sherco side are proud as well. All point being, have a bit of fun, but stick with the schoolwork! It basically sucks! But stick to the stuff and do not let yourself be distracted from your future! The real challenges begin! Kip, can you hire a Math and Physics Tutor that can ride and double as a minder? Grinding him on gradients, angles and force vect…

I was thinking recently about world contention, and thinking about similar sports etc. and what it took too get there. I drew the parrallel in my mind of gymnastics and Ice skating. I do not know much at all about those sports, but some thoughts came to mind. The World champions in those sports start training at a very young age. Often times moving to a different location to be closer to a world level coach, and to be around a peer group of similar minded individuals. I believe that many times, these kids are in effect sent to almost a boarding school type atmosphere where the principal focus is on the sport, school work and social life (if any) is stuffed into the b…

  6. Hey all, wonderful time at the world round in Duluth. If you missed it, too bad on you, but there will be opportunities to see highlights. I spent the weekend with the Speed crew helping them get good footage for the 2-wheel Tuesday show on Speed Channel. It will air on Tuesday, June 15 (week from today), 8PM EDT and reair at midnight and again the following morning. They got a lot of great footage and interviews, and I think we'll get extensive coverage of trials on that show. But also note there will be trials coverage on TONIGHT (June 8), not from Duluth but from a demo we (TTC) did for a bunch of kids at an elementary school. It was lots of fun, so check it out…

I'm looking for 2 guys to work my section (well, Mitch Mansker is section captain this year, so technically it's not -mine-) at the world round. 1 day each (then the other day they can observe). We train observers and you can't possibly get closer to the riders. Oh, and you can ride on the property if you're a worker AND we get you in for free.. AND I'll buy you a spotted cow! Any interest? Know anyone who might be interested? I was hoping to find a local WI/MN guy, but thought I'd reach out to the community at large. Les, Wes? You guys coming up from texas this year? Any interested parties ping me here, or at bwolfe@macromedia.com or on my cell at 415-297-7468 …

  9. Noel has asked me to start some dicussion about moving the Dickeyville/Platteville event back one weekend. It's currently scheduled for August 7/8. However, that's the immediate weekend after the Haggis Basher 2 day in Duluth. This doesn't allow much time for the guys to set it up. So the proposal is that we move Dickeyville/Platteville to August 15/16. Please comment. I'm sending this to our dicussion group at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/WIMNtrials/ and posting it to several other locations such as UMTA.org and trialscentral.. -- Regards, Bentley Wolfe Senior Support Engineer, Macromedia Flash Senior Escalation Engineer Owner, MEGAMO MIDWEST - Now s…

Aha! I finally beat Andy to some WOTA stuff! Who says I never update the web site? Well, a lot of people say that, because last year that was true. But this year I'm on the ball. So no story yet. Waiting for Craig the PR guy to send that here to TC, then I'll get a copy. But I put some pics up on http://www.wisconsintrials.org/. In other news... I only rode 2 event days last year, and this year I haven't ridden at all. Sold my bike to finance some home stuff. Just hanging out. So I've been thinking about riding Vintage next season just to cut costs and see how the air-cooled crowd hangs.. Well, I was encouraged to spend the day yesterday riding an '83 Fantic. …

Hope this get derailed shortly... From : Racer X website Proposed 100% Tax on European Motorcycles: AMA fights possible 100 percent tariffs on certain European motorcycles Dec 8 2008 12:15PM The AMA announced today that it has written to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative opposing a plan that could double the cost of some European motorcycles imported into the United States. The plan being considered by U.S. trade officials would impose a 100 percent import duty on more than 100 European goods -- including two engine displacement categories of motorcycles, 51cc to 250cc, and 251cc to 500cc. If all you North American members that are always debating about how to best promote trials on this side of the Atlantic are open to suggestions, I would propose that the quickest way to mainstream recognition of our sport is to get trials into the X Games. Imagine what Fuji, Dougie, Raga and the boys would do to the imagination of young riders all over the world if they were showcased along side the other extreme sports.
