  1. US champ riders or pro's as they are called now. http://www.rypusa.com/ I have just seen the news, link above, Chris Florin, has moved to GG, and I'm trying to workout who is on what in the champ class for 05, Geoff GG Chris, GG, Cody Sherco, Bruce Sherco, Sean Sherco. Are Beta, Scorpa, Mont, Fielding any pro class riders this year ? Could I be U.S. number 6 ranked rider on a 157 Fantic . Ther must be a reason for 50% drop in the pro class from last year. Is it too expensive in both time and $ to compete in all the rounds. Are there too many rounds in a country this size. Should there be some insentives for the pro class riders, like no entry fees for anyone rid…

Brian, well done! You drew me out of solitary confinement but I simply couldn't stand to see post after post on balarina's, ice skaters or puckers [whatever you want to call them] in a topic with my handle at the top. Now for the rest of you ladies that can't seem to take your eyes off of male ice skaters....why don't you take a shot at the Ringmaster. Have any of ya got the cajones to step up and throw down or are you too stary eyed over those pictures of the male chest? I never thought it would come to this but we've gone from "which bike is better" to "which male balarina is better" Fraceman, seriously now, I know you've got more in ya than that. Skin that smo…

I'd like to apologize to everyone for being so harsh for the past years. I was simply trying to prove the point that our riders are not as good as they think they are in the USA. Finally Laia Sanz and the 125cc world riders proved that point once and for all. Seeing is believing, they spanked us! I remember coming back into trials after a 20 year layoff and having to lisen to senior works riders who couldn't ride very well back in the 70s tell me how good they were today. How much better they rode now than back then, it was amazing, they still rode bad, only now they were old! They were only good in their own minds because they were winning national old guy titles ye…

Rumors are that Mr Morris will be in the states for the 08 championship. Might be a good way to push the Yanks to the next level.

  9. Started by sdm,

I know this is a loaded question but I am trying to make a decision on what to go with for a good protection helment. I currently have an older MX style full face but the visor gets in the way of looking down the trail or section so I can only see about 10 or 15 feet in front of me. Taking the visor off helps but it is heavier that the half helments and open face that I see guys using. I tried an older style Bell RT but the design inteferes with the back of my neck and pushes the helment forward into my field of vision when standing and looking down the trail even without the visor. The other option I am considering is the half helment with the soft sides and bac…

You spent the prior evening [or month in Charlie's place] prepping your bike and loading the trailer. You've now been on the road for an hour when you, your wife or one of your 2.5 kids remembers that you forgot to put Jr's helmet in the trailer. You pull into a breakfast stop at McDonalds and notice the motorsports shop across the street so you run in and find everything you ever thought you would need for the weekend. What else did you forget?????

Trials guys turn it on. Night Show Main Event. 1st (Taddy) 2nd (Aaron) 6th (Colton) 11th (Smage) Phillip was third in the final corner of the big main and got hung up on the massive rock pile for about 10 seconds. That's how far he slipped for one boo-boo. Other photos. Geoff on the podium. Taddy crossing the finish line. And Phillip, Amber, Mich Lin and myself after the event. Big shout out to Lane Leavitt for all his support this weekend with Team Smage! Lane, I know you lurk, big guy. You are the best! Your three rules work. We had fun. We learned something. We earned championship points. And money!

I have ridden bicycle trials for 15 years and want to start in moto-trials. I live in Billings, MT and have lots of hills, trails and some rocks to ride. Wyoming is close and has a very active club. I plan to compete in the upcoming season of trials events they host. I have ridden or raced about every type of bicycle around (MTB, BMX, Road, and of course Trials). I also raced motocross during high school, but haven't had a motorcycle for 15 years. I love dirt riding and bike trials, so I figure I will really enjoy it on a trials motorcycle. I am starting to look for a used trials motorcycle. I have gotten some limited advice from a few local riders. But I would l…

Yes it is that time again. Time for me to beg for everyone to buy a shirt. This year should be less begging. That is because these shirts are HOT. This year Cody is on the shirt. It is a high detail silk screen shirt. The shirts are Hanes and pre shrunk. The price is $20 for one or $35 for two shirts. If you send a check to the address below. Make the check out to USA-TDN. Every shirt that I send out I will donate the shiping cost. That means an extra $3 bucks directly to the team. Sizes are XL, L, M and adult small. Please specify what you want. This year the TDN is in Italy on Sept 19th and 20th. Not only do we have to send the Mens Team but there is also a Womens Team…

  14. Reading some of the replies to the US national dates story on the front page. Firstly Craig, just posted next years dates he didn't arrange them, so a topic on this forum would be a better place to voice your opinions. Very few events, mostly east side of the country, no events in school vacation, events held on back to back weekends are some of the comments posted. To be fair to the NATC they can't organize a friendly series if no clubs volunteer to host events, also those that have volunteered like Arizona, can only do events at certain times of the year. I think the questions should be why are clubs no longer wanting to host events, I have done many and to tell th…

Firstly, this is by no way a knock against any events, just an observation, of what I have seen happening over the past few years, any nationals that I have attended in this time have all been great fun events, and some I didn't attend would of probably prooved my observations wrong. Using myself as a gauge in National trials events I have noticed the scores dropping, to the point if you have a single dab you are likely to be beat. I know it isn't my riding that has improved, but rather the sections are just getting easier. The last four rounds of the US series, some support riders have ridden three events for the sum total of three points. I know many of the same ri…

  16. So its like four outside in the garage right now.... Gasgas is needing attention but this couch i am on is soooo comfy. I know I need motivation. We needed a new post for the US anyway. I am day dreaming of this up and coming season, Surfing youtube, calculating those earned vacation hours, trying not to buy useless cr@p online, and wondering what people out there are doing with their trials bikes. So let me break this down by region.... East coast north-- Yeah its snowing there too huh? Any indoor stuff going on? Any planned travels? I used to ride in the snow and make a groove then try to ride that groove time after time. (mud rut training) Snowboarding and skiing must…

No one in the US makes a living competing so why are they called Pro? If you ride that class don't you feel embarrassed calling yourself a Pro? If you have ambitions to make that class and once you do, you still need a regular job or parent's money to support your riding.
