I know there has allways been a big debate about pre65 bikes, specially when you come to speak about the Scottish pre65. I would really like to LEAVE APART THE SCOTTISH PRE65 and speak just about the 21´st Century evolution of pre65 bikes, and were and when should this evolution stop (if it needs to be stopped...). We can see what both technical and sportive rules are doing to the modern trials; will this happen with classic, specially pre categories?? To start the debate let me show the next example; this last weekend I went to Telford show, where you could see lots of pre65 bikes. ¿pre65 some of them? ¿really? Just have a look to this two: Ok yes, maybe both of the…

That time of the year again, the March Hare is on this Sunday. Really looking forward to it, just hope the weather is kinder this year, the snow was a little harsh last year. Should be a good turn out for the big bikes, just hope the new number plate arrives in time. Anyone else there on the day?

Hi all, Have just acquired the remnants of a b40wd. Was sold to me as a Stafford but having had those in the past I was sure the frame was different. Have found the frame number B40GB 3213 which leads me to believe it is a wd B40 issued to the UK army in 1969. The only original bits appear to be the rear wheel and the frame itself so I am thinking of creating a trials/green lane type thing. I have read a few articles on this and it seems that the wd bikes are particularly suited to this, or am i mistaken? Also, I have looked at various frame pictures online and none seem quite like mine, although it does have the bracket for the remote oil filter - any advice gr…

  6. As TMX were a little shy I though't I'd post this on here Mr Roger Harvey Williams, the Stockton Stallion, clevelands answer to George Clooney no less, won the Twin Shock class at the Peak trial and secured his first British Championship. No doubt he's still talking about it and looking forward to those championship winners get togethers in the years to come with Dougie, Graham, Steve Colley, Steve Saunders and friends. I understand he will NOT be moving to Switzerland for tax reasons congratulations mate.

  7. This year i have been lucky enough to get an entry. As i have never ridden before in Scotland, competitively that is got stuck in a green bog last year just trying to get to my section to observe, what tools bits etc do you/should you carry round with you? Also what do you prepare differently if anything on the bike? Serious answers preferred but i'm sure old Slappers will have something to say as usual

Hi Folks, Hope you don't get tired of me asking these questions. The Bultaco deal fell through. Can someone tell me the difference between a 1972 Ossa MAR and a 1973 Ossa Explorer. They look the same. Are frame geometry, motor and gearing similar to the MAR. Would the 73 Explorer make a good trials bike. And if so, what would I need to change other than tank, seat and sprockets. Thanks folks, Gordon

Hi I’m thinking about building a trials project, I’ve various bits including a tiger cub engine and a c15 frame that looks like it’s been modified for trials. My first question is has anyone put a cub engine with a c15 frame and was it successful ? Or should I just source a tiger cub frame ?

12th & 13th sept. Can anybody who just rode the Nostalgia tell me how the Standard & Easy routes in the Cumberland compare with the Easy & Hard routes of Saturdays trial ? Also how big is the lap, and are they more straight forward sections ? Thanks Ross

Bath's fun trial tomorrow,(Sat 31st July) has had a change of venue which was at first set right in TMX.Unfortunately it has been inserted again at the old venue. To set things straight,(As much as I can ! ) all I can do is tell you that the venue is Fairy Hill,Compton Dando. BS39 4LJ. The start time is 2.30pm,there are two routes, and the sections will be biased towards older bikes.Should be a good day out,a catering van will be onsite.
