Hi guys, I'm tearing my hair out here ! Have a 77 Ossa MAR 250 which won't rev out. I've tried everything plugs , carburetion , cleaned the exhaust, sent the Motoplat unit away to Spain for repair and testing. Engine is totally rebuilt on new seals and bearings. Everything in tip top condition , but it will only run cleanly to about 3/4 throttle and then misfires and won't rev out. Any ideas ? Cheers.

I need the chrome front pipe for a Bultaco Sherpa 49 - the original horizontal type not the kit version as fitted to type 80 for the downward pointing silencer. There are none available in the UK at the moment, I've tried the US with Hugh's, Hogans and a couple of others but no luck. I've found a website in Spain for Romeromoto and they have them but I can't speak Spanish and his English is not too good - communications have failed after a couple of e-mails.... He has them but I just can't order one... Does anyone know of anywhere that has these exhaust pipes for sale? Mr Greeves - do you know of anywhere in Spain that I can get one from? They must be available somewhe…

Hi, I'm trying to get an age related registration plate for my 1976 TL250 Honda and I've come across a stumbling block. I need a Nova reference number. I bought the bike about 4 years ago from a shop on eBay and I imagine it's been imported from America but I can't find my receipt. Has anyone had any experience with this? All the forms I can find on the HMRC website seem to point to the importer to apply for the Nova declaration. I phoned the HMRC helpline and they told me I need to fill out another form but that asked for a previous registration number......which it's never been registered so doesn't have one. This doesn't seem like it's going to be easy. …

Looking to pick the brains of 2 stroke guru's. Have a Villiers 250 fitted with a Marcel barrel (trials) and am having carb problems. The engine seems to run rich, and to get a 'normal' plug reading, and no oil in the exhaust, it needs a 100/110 main jet. With that fitted, the needle in the top ring, and a No4 slide fitted the engine runs ok at all settings above 1/8th open, ie just a little rich looking at the plug (GKN BP5ES) and 2 stroking as it should. Now the difficult bit! With a 25 idle jet I can get it to tick-over, but at low throttle openings, ie less than1'8th, the engine 4 strokes. If I open out the air screw to where it will 2 stroke, it will not tick over, ex…

Good evening All, I have some MZ forks fitted to a Bantam trials bike, the forks work ok, however I believe they could be much better. They are not progressive and once the initial movement and bounce has been taken up they then become less responsive and it takes a significant force to move them down past about 2 to 2.5", basically they become too hard to quick!!!!!! it is due to the springs as i have tried different weight oils. ordinary 35.00mm fork springs are too big on the diameter, I have tried some Sherpa ones. has anyone found a progressive spring that fits the MZ forks or any other suggestions that will improve the action?

I am thinking about getting into some "classic" or "vintage" trials events next year, and since I need a new build project, I thought it might be nice to build a decent vintage trials bike. Mind you, my level is novice at best (been riding trials for a year, I can balance, do lock to lock turns, clean 1' to 1.5' obstacles). I looked for the AHRMA rule books for trials and the classes listed on their web site are: 13.1.1 PREMIER HEAVYWEIGHT: Certain pre-1965 era and like design, non-unit construction (separate, removable gearbox), four-stroke machines, 350cc and larger. Examples: BSA B32, Ariel HT., Triumph Trophy, Royal Enfield Bullet, etc., or accurate replica…
