Hello, Does anyone know of this event in April and where i can getta hold of the regs and a contact telephone number? I've done a search on Google and came across this: http://www.ndmc.org.uk/Events/Exmoor/2009/...rial%202009.pdf. However these regs mention cars and motorcycles. I've a contact name of Bill Hartnell but i'm not sure if i've the correct number because no one answer the phone. So can anyone help, or just point me in the right direction? Many thanks, Cliff

Im about to rebuild my wheels with new tyres and was wondering what people do when they run tubes. I have Michelins on ally rims but not tubeless so not sure if I should run rimlocks or not.

As many of you will know, we had to cancel the Retro65 2 day trial due to be held near Welshpool a few weeks ago. 60 entries were needed to make running the event financially viable and at the closing date we had only received 26. On the same weekend the Scarborough club ran a two day, Westmoreland club held a round of the Sammy Miller series and then there was the Euro Trial in Gloucestershire. Are there too many events or should we have followed the trend and opened the trial to Twin Shocks, Air cooled Mono's, Trail bikes etc. and had two routes instead of trying to run a genuine classic bike trial with a single route?

This bike is listed as a 1975 Sherpa T. To me it looks like a 1971 M80. Can any experts out there confirm the bike for me please?

I have a 1972 Bultaco 350 Model 92, registered 1/8/1972, (original red Slimline SM replica glass tank) and I am just wondering if anyone knows the correct silver paint colour on the tank - i.e. similar to Ford Silver Fox ? The tank appears to have been painted as the black "pinstripe" between the red tank and silver flash which has the "Bultaco" sticker is raised in profile. I just wanted to paint the silver part and was looking for a matching colour.

Hi all and a very Christmas. I am in the throes of Building a RE Crusader trials bike and having got all the parts off the bike that I don`t need I`m just a little concerned about the width of the frame at the point where the seat will go. Is there any practical way of narrowing that part so that I don`t have to go bandy-legged to ride it? I have tools and a welder I just need a good idea. Many thanks, Hazel

Hi I have an old '72 XL250 that I'm thinking of building into a trials bike, similar to the Jefferies bike. Any thoughts on how the head angle was steepened? Im favouring heat bending the top tube but I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance Mart

I just got the most modern bike in my stable a 1990 Fantic 307. Are these bikes any good? I know nothing about them. Up until now I have classic machines in my collection. So far I like the bike but my wife likes it even better so I get little time on it. Any one out there have one? TY175 questions but reed valves in general. In talking to a reputable engine builder he said that "in his experience a softer reed pedal worked better for trials applications." I have replaced my stock reeds with a set of Boysen reeds but couldn't feel any difference, thoughts? Could you tell a difference or is it an accumaltive increase with each little bit making it some what better? I didn't get to ask him about the metal reed stops on the reeds, would the work better in the stock positions or would they work better if you "bent" them so they would open wider or again would it be a waist of time and energy? This is all in search of the just a little more low end grunt…

Hello All, I've recently acquired a James Cotswold Scrambler which was raced in Southern California in the late 50's. The engine is a 7e Villiers unit and is missing most of the clutch side components. I was wondering what the best options are for a clutch in a trials conversion. I have seen the 9E multi plate used with slight modification and have even heard of a modern alternative. I look forward to your thoughts. Cheers, Ben

Does anyone have any contacts for some 1974ish Montesa Cota parts ? I'll probably need some clutch plates and would like to buy some engine gaskets rather than have to make them. I may be needing a fibreglass or replica seat/tank as well depending on how my attempt to repair it goes.

Has anyone managed to fit a belt drive primary to an AJS M16? I'm looking at trying to fit a Bob Newby product but not sure that the width of the cover is large enough to take the belt. Does anyone know where I might get a slightly wider cover? Are there any other products out there for this conversion to the M16? Thanks
