Hello, I am preparing a 242 Montesa Cota for Classic trials. I have worked a lot in it because I love drive but I love more tune and prepare it. The bike has many special parts made in duraluminium and diverse modifications to make the drive more light, more easy to drive and less tiring because I'm ggetting a bit older. I have ever thinked that the old points ignitions can't work really well in all the rpm range. I read and advertisement on the net about The Norton Villiers "LITTLE DEMOM" electronic ignition. The advertisements explains " There is an inbuilt advance curve which allows the motor to run at extremely low rpm" This phrase gained my interest and I dec…

Hi, I want to join the great and the good in pre-65 trials, but I need some help! Firstly, is there a club to join in the Sussex / South East, that people recommend? Secondly, what are the normal license requirements? Thirdly, what sort of bike would people recommend for a novice? I'm thinking a Greeves, Tiger cub, C15T or Bantam would be sensible, but do they need to be modified extensively to be competitive? I'm also drawn to somethink a bit more thumping like a BSA B31, a B33, or an Ariel.... but are they just too heavy? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Dan

Does anyone here know if there is much of a trials following in Northern Ireland. I have someone travelling over every few weeks and with an empty van it would make sense to try and unearth some bikes to shift on this end?? Thanks in advance

Hi Has anyone here had a go at the pre 65 trial up aviemore way that Big John does, ive heard its good but im not the best with the old bike and its not the best with water! Are the sections easy or hard , are they mostly burns like the trials up here for the more modern stuff or is it a mixture. i've an old crusader for years using it up the hills etc locally but ive fancied having a go at a trial with it. Is there any pics on the web of the event last year and who do i contact for an entry? Cheers Greg

Hi, I have just bought a square alloy barrel and head, thinking it was for a DOT trials/scrambler but im not sure!! I have two heads for it which are both different, and the barrel has a chrome bore. The black head is definately off a DOT, as i took it to the DOT stand at stafford and they confirmed this for me. It won't let me upload any pics so if you can help me, please send me your email address and i will send you the pics!! Many thanks, steve.

Come on then, who's it to be this year: Will Neil Gaunt get the top stop back? Will Tony Calvert maintain his domination? Can Carlos Casas finally get the win he richly deserves? Who are this year's dark horses? Will one hipflask make it through the weekend or will I need two? Will Big John get lost on Blackwater again? Come on then .... thoughts

Hi, i have just bought a 1955 DMW trials/scrambler and have no information on the DMW marque. I have searched the internet but hardly found any information. I have also rang up norton villiers but they are of no help either. Does anyone have any information on these bikes or know where i can get it? Pictures would be great along with info on an owners club? Cheers, steve.
