Classic Trials

I found these photos while surfing for some pre65 info and thought they might be of interest; http://niclassicscramblesclub.com/gallery3/index.php/old-pictures/Ken-McClure-s-Collection/Trials. They are from events in Northern Ireland during the late '50s, but they include a few well known names and stars of yesteryear. Obviously the world has moved on in the last 60 years, but I would expect that many of the bikes in the photos would still have been in use up to our 'pre65' cut off? I wonder how many of these would be considered to be anywhere near competitive in todays pre65 events, and how many of us would consider building or bringing out a similar bike?

Hello all, I have a swinging arm 7 inches wide at the wheel spindle plates. I’m wondering what you Pre65 guys use for a rear wheel hub? Something other than a cub and preferably aluminium. Cheers

Hi im recommissioning a1980 Beamish. The techomoto throttle has quite some wear and I would like to replace. Are the new Domino throttles a decent replacement? thanks Kev

The Stratford upon Avon MCC is proud to announce a new look for the Sam Cooper Union Jack Classic Trial to be held on 25th June 2017. This year the trial will start at the College Arms, Lower Quinton, Stratford upon Avon, CV37 8SH. The trial is open to solo Pre 65, Rigid, and Twinshock machines, but will also accept entries on trail bikes. There will be two routes: A – hard route for expert riders B – an easier route suitable for big bikes and Rigid machines There will be an intermediate route too for Clubman riders comprising the harder of the B route and the easier of the A route. This year’s trial will be approximately 24 miles in distance …

Hi, I purchased a 1996 ish Scorpa Easy 250 last year. after first outing, dicovered a few things need to be sorted! main issue is the rear caliper is leaking so i need a piston repair kit. I have contacted several shops but cant seem to source one....can anyone help please? Thanks Paul

I recently purchased a mostly complete KT250 which I intend to restore to ride vintage events. I am have collected most of the missing bits, along with a donor bike. There are few parts I need to replace with new, sprockets, cables, swing arm bushings and shocks. Anyone have a source for these parts. I plan to run premix and remove the oil pump, where can I obtain a single throttle cable which would work with a Domino slow throttle assembly?

Hi all I have been loaned a pre 65 bike and want to take part in the National Downland Trial,could somebody explain the format to me,as i am new to Pre 65 scene.So i turn up sign on/pay RTA insurance,then i ride with another rider to...............How do i know were to go,how do i find the sections/do i carry a score card,do you do the sections once/is there a finish time.................All/Any advice would be very greatfully recieved. Hello, I live in US and have been researching parts for a 1986 TY 250. does anyone know where I can obtain one?? I have been thinking about buying this TY250 but it needs flywheel and I havent been able to locate one. I ride a TL 250 but would like to add the TY250 to the collection. Thanks Larry
