  2. I'm old (81+) with a new acquisition of a 1977 Canadian market TY175. I'm way past stand-up motorcycling leg strength, and, so, seeing this bike advertised for a song, I remembered back in the day, Cycle World in the States reviewing the then new TY175 and remarking that it was the best "trail" bike they'd tested. I bought it, thinking it was so light and maneuverable, that it would suit the woods and logging road riding available here on Vancouver Island. I found right away that the foot pegs are too high and far back for my wretched legs to be comfortable in my preferred sitting style, so I acquired foot peg brackets and rear brake pedal from a 1975 DT175. This moved…

Hello All,Please help if you can, have had this bike locked away in my mums garage for at least 15 years, swapped it for an air rifle then promptly did something else, always meant to get round to doing it up! What I remember of the original Transport for Arms transaction discussion, was the owner thought it was originally a Ty175 but was now 200cc, a whitehawk?, nickel/chrome frame, and oil pump removed and its now premix! Any Help or hints etc would be gratefully received!! Cheers Matt

Hello, Can anyone help me? My Boyfriend has a 1988 Yamaha TY250 monoshock. I'm trying to buy him a new inner tube and tyre clamp for xmas. I think I've found the right inner tube here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360194110833&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT - Is this the right size? But I'm having more trouble with the tyre clamp, I spoke to a shop and he said I needed the size....but I don't know what size he needs and I don't want to ask him as I want to suprise him. Anyones help would be appreciated. Rachel

  9. Started by mb191,

What tyres are there available for the tube type rim i know IRC do one (but dont like it on rocks) but cant see any made by Dunlop or Michelin as in the x11 version. Is it possible to run a tubeless tyre with a tube on a tubed rim?

  10. Started by wurzel,

Heard a rumour that tubless rear tyres are to be banned in the traditional series does anyone know if this is true as i am about to get my wheels rebuilt so i need to know which rims i can fit.

I am thinking about getting into some "classic" or "vintage" trials events next year, and since I need a new build project, I thought it might be nice to build a decent vintage trials bike. Mind you, my level is novice at best (been riding trials for a year, I can balance, do lock to lock turns, clean 1' to 1.5' obstacles). I looked for the AHRMA rule books for trials and the classes listed on their web site are: 13.1.1 PREMIER HEAVYWEIGHT: Certain pre-1965 era and like design, non-unit construction (separate, removable gearbox), four-stroke machines, 350cc and larger. Examples: BSA B32, Ariel HT., Triumph Trophy, Royal Enfield Bullet, etc., or accurate replica…

I wonder if anyone has ever fitted a Mikuni VM22 to a Villiers 7E spec motor. I was prompted when my 3rd and last Villiers S24 Concentric showed hairline cracks. I had a VM22 handy and a hose to couple it up. I've long held that the 24mm size was fit for road work, but maybe overchoked for a trialer. The carb came from a GP100 so I'm awaiting suitable jets and filter. Anyway I'd like to hear any experienced views, thanks.
