Hi all, I have a 2008 rev 4T without a spark. It hasn't been started for a few months, Started (after a lot of kicking) last week, ran for about 30 seconds and died as soon as I let it drop to idle. I have checked, and rechecked, and I am definitely not getting a spark. I have isolated the ignition system entirely and still no spark. I am thinking it's the stator, The lighting end seems fine (can get the fan spinning ,and a light working) when kicking it over. Just wondering does anybody know the resistance values for this Bike. I am getting 16 ohms across the ignition coil, which seems fairly low. By the way the stator has 2 ignition coils and another 10 coils for th…

Hi there, Just torn my REV 3 270 motor down for new bearings and seals and am going through other items whilst I wait for parts. I've never used the bike as it had a few issues when I bought it. I have a few questions please - some may be dumb but its been 10 yrs since I had a 2 stroke apart and a few brain cells have said rendex vous, if anyone can help: 1) Rings - My bike has a Vertex piston (I'm not sure whether this is the original make of piston) looks in good condition. When I push the rings into the barrel the 2 ring gaps measure up at 0.5 and 0.7. I've read in the evo manual that the gaps limit is 0.6mm. Do I leave or replace? And if I use as is should I…

Help! Ive got a REV 3 250 2000 model and something is certainly not right! I was out last weekend and the bike started ok and ran for say an hour then the bike stalled and could I hell as like start it! So back to the shed and stripped the carb cleaned the jets etc re assemble etc. I have cleaned the air filter and changed the plug to the right gap. The bike trys to turn over but only fires for say five to ten seconds then dies. It may be ive cocked up the carb adjustments as I am pretty new to all this. I have the mixture screw set at two and a half turns. I am trying to set up the carb but cant get the bike started long enough to balance it. After 15 mins of sweat …

Hi everyone, I have a 2018 Beta Evo 4T. The bike has been unused for 8/9 months. I ran it today and found that the fan didn’t kick in. I tried to move the fan by hand but it was very stiff. I put some penetrating fluid in to try and release what I thought was a seized bearing. I managed to get it to moving but when the engine was run up to operating temperature the fan didn’t kick in. I checked and cleaned all the connection, all were fine. Can someone advise me, is there a way to check the fan independently or by bypassing the thermostat. I’m pretty sure the fan motor has gone but would like to check before committing to a new one. Thank you.

Hi I have a 2009 beta Evo 250cc, and find that it runs a bit choked, not crisp. My old beta rev 3 ran a bit choked for about 5 mins or so, then rode Ok. The evo feels like it needs a clear out to run smooth, it doesn

Hi Guys I have read on here that the 2003 Rev 3's tend to feel a little under powered compare to other years of rev 3, is there a good reason for this, and can it be sorted by altering carb setup etc? The bike would be my first trials bike in 7 years (had a 97 techno before starting bike trials) although I am quite a heavy guy, around 19st at the moment, although that is slowly reducing. Thanks Adam

This has been covered, but there is some conflicting info around regarding the oil height on the compression side of things. My service manual has an image clearly showing the spring in the fork tube when measuring the air gap at 120mm ( I chose to use the air gap method instead of measuring volume). However, I've read more than once that to get the accurate measurement, it needs to be done without the spring in fork tube. Did mine last night without the spring, and it feels about right (in the shop, haven't ridden it yet). So, I guess I'm just looking to clarify that the 120mm measurement is, in fact, done without the spring in place, right? 2008 Rev3 270. Thanks!

Hi everyone, Just getting myself back in to trials and picked up a 2006 Beta Rev 3. Love it to bits but it could do with a couple replacement parts. The main thing is the rear mudguard and after hours and hours of trawling the internet I just cannot find a 2004-2008 one anywhere. They're either £150 on ebay for second hand ones or out of stock. Anyone know of any alternative rear mudguards I could fit to it? Or maybe there's a manufacturer out there that I just haven't found...? Cheers, Adam
