OSET Bikes are appealing for witnesses or information after 45 of its 2017 bikes were stolen yesterday from a lorry park in Leicestershire. The incident happened between 1800 and 0500 on the night of the 25 October at Markfield Service Station J22 off the M1, while the driver completed an overnight rest break. The new 2017 bikes were being transported from the docks, having cleared customs, to the manufacturer’s warehouse facilities in the Midlands. From here they were due to be transported across the UK to the dealership network. The theft was only discovered when the driver returned to his vehicle at 5am on the 26th October 2017 and noticed both seal and container lock…

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Hand+Tools/d10/Punches/sd3302/Letter+Number+Punch+Set+36+Piece/p19757 See above link, can get them at plenty of other places also. Another option is a vibro engraver at about £40. To make the bike less attractive to thieves and more likely to be recovered get it registered, it costs nothing. Then stamp or engrave the reg number on lots of parts, some visible and some hidden. I can't remember the exact figure but doing the above reduces theft by something like 70%

stolen from high peak area, derbyshire. anywhere between buxton and manchester. i know its a very long shot, but back in 2002, my aprilia climber 280 and yamaha ty 250 were stolen from my garage. the yamaha turned up 2 years later 3 miles away. luckily with that one, it was john shirt's SSDT bike and had had J SHIRT stamped in all the places you couldnt imagine. with the aprilia though, it was a non runner, it had sucked an air box nut through and managed to completely destroy itself. it was distinctly marked, with nylon coated black forks and frame, plus the rear sub frame was a one off to suit that bike, after several snaps i decided a stronger sub was needed. the pl…

I had the back of a locked shed removed to get to my Beta Rev 3 270 (2007) between 8-16 December. They even took spare petrol and oil! I only had the bike 7 weeks and there is no insurance. Utterly heartbroken. How can people be so heartless?

    Started by Guest,

My 1997 Beta Techno 250 was just stolen from my place in Southampton. It was locked up but they somehow got it out. The bike is purple and grey with red fork lowers and gold fork stanchions. Very distinctive and not many around these days. Non standard parts include a purple sprocket, grey renthal grips and a new killswitch near the centre of the bars, not next to the lever. It has no front light and the kickstand is also missing. The bike also has no throttle cable because it had broken so it probably doesn't even start at the moment. They also nicked a green can with 5l of fuel in and a bottle of putoline pre-mix synthetic oil. Any information or sightings would be imme…

Dear fellow motorcycle trials enthusiasts, I would like to take this opertunity to bring you up to speed with recent events regarding my friend Jon Sands, (big boy) and his stolen Beta evo 250 2010. The bike was spotted for sale on eBay and once the confirmation was made, the police insisted on handling the situation. Unfortunately the seller sold the bike early on eBay for cash before a trap was placed. Jon was told that the police would visit the ebayer and interviews him about the sale, please now take a breath and read the following. 1) The seller told the police he bought the bike from an auto jumble at Kempton Park for cash. 2) No receipt no names etc. 3) The …
