Hi All, Just been out for a spin on my TL 320 and when loading the bike up in second on decent banks there was a slight clunk - like a quieter version of the a chain jumping the sprocket. 1st was Ok and bike is shifting smoothly etc. I have had the clutch apart recently to change springs and was wondering if the clutch basket nut may have come loose. Would it have those symptoms if this was the case or could the dogs on the gears have worn slightly in second? Any help appreciated.

  4. Well, Speedy has gone off to pastures new. I'd like to thank all on here whom have helped in the past when I've had queries or needed helped, when I was but a rookie SWM owner and not the Uber Anorak Owner I later became. Martin at Moto SWM needs thanking too, like Dave at BikeTech GasGas it's great when someones business is also their passion. Honestly getting parts was far easier than for my late Yamaha WRF's I've owned....chatting with some bored and spotty 16 year, who grunts when distracted from the smartphone is not a fantastic experience I'd like to share. cheers guys, all the best

About 20% into my Jumbo 350 project when I bought someone else's 85% finished project. I'll finish it first and then eventually get to the original one. Unfortunately I must have mistakenly deleted all my tear down photos and will probably be poking in occasionally with questions. I looked all over the web but can't find a pic of the skid plate rear mount. I got a new plate from Martin which would crash into the engine case unless there are spacers between the rear mount and the plate. I'm figuring about 12mm of space is needed. Is this right? Am I missing something? Any help w Thanks in advance

I have a 1980 SWM TL320 that I have a new seat for. The old one was strapped on. Anyone have a good way to mount the seat and be able to take it off easy to work on filter? This one doesn’t have the quick release because at one time it had a metal tank. Thanks

Here is a video of my 1978 SWM TL320 Engine Rattle. Is it a problem as I have heard several at Trials that sounds the same or louder?

This week I was lucky enough to buy a 1979 Gunaco only to find out today that in fact I have bought a nice bike with a completly knackered motor. It did rattle a little on the test ride but after stripping it down we found everything hugely worn and needs replacing plus a rebored etc etc etc. Plus when we lent it over to look at the clutch it lost oil from a cracked casing behind the engine sprocket, where a chain has jumped at some time. It was sold as only needing a make over with assurances the motor was sound and in good nick. To the sellers credit after a quick phone call he has agree to take it back and reimburse and or participate in putting the engine right …

  19. Strange, just been getting her ready to drop off to be blasted and powdered coated and was checking the frame number details and found blue under the black, odd? The blue paint is 'in' the frame numbers suggesting it has may of been blue from new, yes, she could of been blasted & repainted back years ago but I know from doing this myself with very fine beads it can be a very difficult to get the old paint 'out' of the numbers. This attracted my interest and further inspection shows some more of this blue in some of the deeper frame treads where bolts don't seat right in and take the paint 'out'. Also the front mudguard stay that is now black was blue with blue p…

China money has resurrected the SWM name and the company is in an excellent position to build quality Italian bikes aka Cagiva/Husqvarna. Right now they are in the 4t mode in the enduro range but they are posed to get the rights to bmw/husky 2t motors that GG has the rights to now. Those engines are torque machines. With a bit of gear change SWM would have as good of motor as Beta if not better, because of the husky power valve. The rich history of SWM trials heritage and a bit of product demand should encourage the designers at SWM to fab a trials frame. The company is doing the right thing by using the husky factory in Vareese with the husky workers, frame, marzocci/…
