I am re-building my 2003 Gas gas 250 txt pro and phoned GasGas uk for piston rings, I was told that they can no longer be supplied as there has been a change in the piston manufacturer and I would need a whole new piston kit at 120 quid. I had been looking at a Wossner kit on ebay for under 90 quid, they advertise it as a better replacement... is this true? they also say... and I quote "OE bore size is 72.47mm. Pistons available in 72.47mm, 72.48mm and 72.49mm. Please specify which is required when ordering." I have been told if I go for the middle size I will be OK but Wossner say I should take the barrel to an engineer to be measured (too much hassle) Any advise woul…

Jim Snell and Adrian Lewis informed me that my daughter's 2002 Pro 200 was a model released for only 1 year with the Pro engine without the current clutch pack and slave cylinder; and with aluminium engine cases (not magnesium). The 2002 uses a number of TXT (AKA Edition) parts such as the air box. We've upgraded to the 2006 clutch. Since this bike has a California Green Sticker (allows us to ride all-year around) and uses the 2002 frame with a steeper rake; We've decided to keep it, and just upgrade with the S3 225cc kit, S3 High-compression head, S3 flywheel weight. Future planned mods may include the Keihin PWK28 and a S3 Long pipe, I've heard that the air box may b…

Hi I am about to buy myself a 2012 Raga. Something to be aware of? What attracts me - besides that it looks da*** well - is Tech forks, AJP clutch and brakes, Reiger shock and.. well thats it I think.. A little surprised that it has a DelOrto not Kehin? -Jan

Hi Guys, Has anyone heard or used these new xpro ATC throttle tubes? ment to be great smoothness of the throttle....... as I was thinking of getting the flywheel weight for my gas gas so I could have more bottom end grip when on step climbs but this seems to be better than other mods to the bike? http://www.splatshop.co.uk/xpro-atc-throttle-tube.html

Does anyone have recommended settings for the Keihin carb? 2012 280 Pro Racing. Bike runs pretty sweet but on tickover the exhaust 'pops' quite a bit - more so than others I've listened to on Youtube. I'd like to check the mixture is as per recommended. I've searched everywhere and cant find anything - sorry if I'm missing the obvious. Thanks

Hate to join a new forum and make my first post a problem one, but that's the way the cookie has crumbled. I come from the beautiful country of Croatia, where, bar one Ossa and another GasGas owner, trials is as a foreign word as Okonomiyaki. I really enjoy it and love these bikes, but mine is being a stubborn idiot at the moment. So this is my story. Bought the bike in '12, rode it carefree for a few summers and then stopped using it for a year while I changed jobs and moved house. Got it to the new house last July, rode it once and then during one ride it just cut out and died. Bike had no spark, I tried all the usual things but in the end I had to order a new CDI.…

New to me 2015 300 TXT Pro Racing. I have been going over the bike getting it ready, but I am new to trials bike. The forks came set to max compression, and max compression damping (as in both adjuster screws were bottomed out in the forks). Where should I set them to get a baseline? My instinct says to put them in the middle (12-13 clicks) and go from there, but just wondering where other people are running their clickers. I am about 170 lbs.

My friend is about to place a new cylinder on his 97 321 gasgas, we are both a little nervous about the amount of thickness of the base gasket. There is techniques buy using soder to determine this, any tips on this subject would be appreciated. sam

Been having many over heating issues with my bike... I bought it not so long ago at a blind auction so was expecting there to be some issues however I didn’t expect the whole cooling system to have next to none of the required electrics so I hot wired the fan up to the what I believe to be the AC power supply coming straight from the stator (correct me if I’m wrong)... the fan barely moves even at higher revs... I checked to see if the fan was working by connecting to a car battery and it works... not sure if it’s spinning fast enough though, any other way to test this? Will the fan ever work properly if there’s no rectifier? Is it worth getting a thermo switch as well or…

I have a 2014 300 Pro Racing and last week I tried the clutch action on a 2019 300. It was soooo much lighter! Seems they have a thinner spring which I guess is the reason it's so light. Also has the adjustable clutch. Anyone know if there are any other differences and if it's possible to change my 2014 clutch to be the same as the 2019? I have arm issues (compartment syndrome) and the lighter the lever action the better for me. Thanks.

Hi, I went to move my 200 GG last night and had oil leaking from the right fork at the bottom of the fork leg. The allen bolt at the bottom of the fork leg was tight. It has not been ridden for about 2 weeks but gets moved often and I have never seen oil on the floor before. It was definitely coming from the bottom of the fork leg. Any ideas??

I just rebuilt the rear caliper on a 2000 TXT 200 because it was not releasing and after all is said and done it seems to now be working OK but I can depress the pedal all the way and grab the rear wheel and still rotate it using a lot of effort. The brake doesn't seem to be mushy so I'm wondering if this is a normal situation? I didn't replace the pads but they weren't contaminated. I'd appreciate any input. TIA Rick Graves

I have a '99 TXT321 and there seems to be a fair bit of initial stiction in my forks action. Once they start moving they seem to be fine but getting them to move from their resting position is harder than it should be. These forks are well used, is it possible that the internal bushes need replacement? How about too high of preload? I can easily shorten the preload spacer on my lathe but how much should be removed at a time? I bounce the bike before I tighten the fork pinch bolts for the axle but could it be misaligned? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm currently looking at a bargain basement TX 250 which I believe to be a 1998 model based on what I can find online. I am looking for a project bike as opposed to something ready to go and this one may seem to fit the bill. It is currently missing it's rear brake master cylinder. I'd like to check how the TX differs from the later and far more common TXT for parts such as this, and other consumables such as discs, pads, fork seals etc. Would I struggle to find the right parts or were Gas Gas kind enough to not change too much over the years? Thanks you for the help. 👍

Hi folks, I've not this bike long and its my first modern (mono shock at least) trails bike. I've replaced lot of service bits on it already just so I know everything is in good shape. However, I've changed the oil in it several times now over the last few weeks and the magnetic sump plug is picking up metal fragments (so must be iron). They're little, sharp slivers rather than chunks- either way I'm not sure what is causing it. There is also a silvery film to the oil drained which looks like it could be aluminium. The gear box seems ok and I can get through all 6 gears without problem. Sometimes getting neutral is a bit tricky, especially when cold, but I think this ha…
