Any of have experience with an air leak like this on a 4spd Bultaco ,base of the cylinder, I’ve already replaced the gasket with fresh yamabond to little improvement.5psi drops to 1psi in 5 minutes.Thanks!🙂

So , as original Mahle piston pin clips are getting a little thin on the ground at my house,have any of you guys found any user friendly easy to obtain modern replacements? For the 250 and 350?id like to stock up.Thanks! 🙂👍

Had a loud rattle from the back of the bike (Alpina 213), so pulled off the rear silence and give it a shake - something heavy adrift inside. I thought I’ve nothing to lose so took the disc cutter to it: Having fished it out it appears to be the same size as the lower tailpipe, but where does it belong?

Hi are the 350 199 engine and exhaust compatible with a Sherpa T 191 frame, how many of the parts are interchangeable.

A couple of people have asked about the fold out lever I have fitted to my Sherpa 198A that was for sale (now sold!) and I promised to post some photos and quick description of how I made it. Its not an original or expensive remanufactured one, but a right hand pivot lever with 13mm diameter splines (the Bultaco shaft size) that I found on eBay for £13 - allegedly Honda derivative but I can't confirm as it seems a pretty cheap copy. Basically I removed the lever from the splined boss (circlip) and simply filed away the metal to form a curved profile matching the opposite side allowing the lever to pivot both ways. Its been a while since i've been on this forum but after several other projects i've finally dug out my '77 191 Sherpa so i can finish it ( and use it!). It was in bits when i got it,including the wheels.I've just got the hubs back from Mike Danby who's done a great job re-lining them,got spoke sets from Inmotion so i'm ready to have a go at building the wheels up.I have got the parts list which shows the spoke pattern but information on the offset is thin on the ground.What i could find online was for a 199A and was Front brake side 15mm , non-brake side 32mm and Rear brake side 40mm , non-brake side 35mm. Hi, Just replaced the Amal Carb on my 198A that I have restored. My question is. Is the choke on the Mikuni when the lever is down or when the lever is up? Cheers

I looked up the E2 on this enduro tyre that I intend to fit to the rear of my Alpina . It looks like it’s road legal in France . Is it legal in UK ?

While turning the countershaft on my 199 by hand it stops turning once every revolution. If I turn it harder it will rotate. The transmission works as it should although the shifting is a bit notchy. What is the cause the sticky countershaft?

A close examination of my front hub shows the chrome off in a couple of places . Not having come across chroming brake hubs ,I wondered how bad are these patches ? How long will the rest of the lining last ? Strangely, the rear brake has a steel liner .

Hi, just replaced the wobbly wheel bearings but the rear wheel of my 199 Sherpa is still not fixed properly when I fasten the wheelnut. Washer behind wheelnut touches the thicker part of the axle after the thread before the rear wheel is fully tightened. Of course had I checked the parts book but I am still unsure if therr is something missing. I have, beginning from the right. What’s the current status of the GRO tanks fitted as standard to Bultacos , OK for road use in the UK ?

The nipples in my Alpina are eaten away . can anyone tell me the thread size of the spokes ? I measure them at 3.37 mm dia , which corresponds with nothing I can find .

I took the taco plunge last week when I found this one on local CL.. Seems to have most of the important pieces intact...the m 49 seat in photo did not come with it .will need to remove buddy seat frame and pegs. I cleaned the IRZ carb and it fired right up..top end and clutch are a little noisey.. Plan is to ride it as is this summer and do a frame up "rider resto" this winter.. Can't wait to tear into it tho..

Hi Thanks for letting me in. I have a Bultaco M10 in great condition which has been in dry storage for approximately 40 years in Guernsey and now in the UK. The engine is in the frame but everything else is bubble wrapped in a couple boxes ready to go. I'm going to start the restoration very soon and I wondered if someone knows the paint code for the frame, I originally had the frame powdercoated in grey but now realise how stupid i was in doing so, i intend getting it stripped and sprayed properly. Hello, I've decided to replace the original Amal on my M116, 325 Alpina with a Mikuni and have bought one from In-Motion, along with the manifold. I have just tried to fit it and there isn't room for the retaining nuts at the two studs are practically touching the rubber manifold. I thought I'd ask in case anyone else has found the same problem and how they resolved it. I suppose I could cut the rubber away but don't really want to do this in case I damage it too much! Also, should I keep the original rubber carburettor spacer or remove it as the new manifold is rubber? If that is the case, I assume I will need a paper gasket between the new manifold and th…
