Bultaco

Hi guys, after five Sherpa and Alpina finally got a 76 Frontera 370 model 181. it runs not very good at low normal revs, a little bit fat, as nd at 3500 or 4000 it starts wheeling, full power...original bing 36mm is fitted. Does it make sense to go with Dellorto to get it more smooth? Any experience? On my Sherpas dellorto 26 and 28 working well...

Hi all just returning a heavily modified 199b back to original and seem to have a clutch problem, first off the clutch arm has been extended (more throw, lighter action maybe) and also with both balls and rod in position to set up centre adjuster I screw in to just touch top hat and back out 1/4 turn, but it only leaves about 3 threads on centre pin, not good, I'm thinking the rod is too short maybe, I would like to see some threads above nut face at least, any measurements would be helpful, clutch is operating OK, or maybe a problem at the lever side🤔 Cheers.

I aim having difficulty with the wiring of a lanyard kill switch for a 74 Sherpa T 250. The bike has previously had a multipurpose switch but this has disintegrated. I have eliminated the leads to the lights leaving three leads. I still have a spark with any combination of these leads. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Dear All, I am trying to clean/restore the wiring of a recently bought Alpina 213. Need your help to clarify components and correct wiring The stator has 5 coils, and 6 wires: black, yellow, green, green/yellow, red, grey I found the black connected to ignition coil (and the bike runs 🙂 ) and kill switch. The red and the grey are not connected to anything. The green is earthed to the frame. The yellow goes to horn (and it sounds) as well as main light switch. Stop light does not work. Tail light always on... My questions: 1/ is it possible to identify the coils and their functions? how to? 2/ I understand one coil is for igniti…

I'm new with my Bultaco Lobito (bought as a Sherpa but that's another story!) So far I haven't been able to find much information on the bike... and if I could it would be in Spanish, which isn't very helpful. What bike is the Lobito anyway? I read that it was intended for youngsters who are too big for small bikes, but even that basic information was hard to find...it doesn't really look or feel "small"...any clues are helpful. Now the story... after cleaning my lovely AMAL I thought I should check the spark, that was easy as there was none. After taking the side cover off and sanding the points for some time (not that easy to come by) I gave it a try and had a spar…

I cannot find a front brake stay for my 159. I think the material is 4mm thick aluminium. Does anyone have one they can measure approximately and add those dimensions to a picture if they are able so that I can fabricate one. Alternatively if anyone has a spare hanging around I would be happy to buy off them. Cheers, Neil.

  12. This restored ? Is in my opinion questionable the same bike ,, model 480510 sold as easy rider bike on bohamas auctions , do you see the differences , and on other side it has mk2 up pipe exhaust ,, I working on 48 engine , and started looking for a frame , some one on line said it was a copy , and not the original , ridden by Fonda , , so I found clip on handle bars , chain guard , front wheel hub , spokes different , fork tube has brake tang , seat , little torn , ,, and if mk3 why mk2 exhaust up pipe ,

  13. Started by DRIX,

Hi all. I joined this forum recently as I have a 350 Sherpa 199 (red / silver / black) that I want to restore to use for a but of fun (i.e. not concours). I've gathered plenty of experience rebuilding / building bikes over the last 40 years or so, but do like to have a manual when I do an engine for things like wear limits on big ends / bore / crank runout / torque values etc., ohh, and a decent diagram or exploded view of the gearbox. The bike has had little use and is pretty much stock, bar the universal plastic guards. It was 'parked' in '93 because the clutch was slipping (and I was about to go work abroad) I stripped and boxed it. Having retired 3 years ag…

The piston diameter on my 198B is 73.75 giving a size of 256cc. The underside of the piston is stamped DINAMIN, and although the piston and bore are in good condition I wonder if anybody knows if this was a fairly standard mod just to maximise the capacity rather than being overbored so many times over the years for some strange reason. Also does anybody know what bike would this piston? might have come from? GasGas perhaps?? The InMotion site shows piston sizes up to 73.00 only. Thanks.

Does anybody know if the blue colour on the 199A and 199B are the same, or is the 199B a different shade of blue? Especially the blue on the fork sliders and the yolks on the 199B Thanks

Hello, I’m trying to adjust the clutch on my bultaco sherpa model 92. When I try and screw and nut they’re very tight, but also the whole clutch system spins with it. How can I hold it all still so I can loosen these and re set them in the right location.

Has anyone painted the blue 199 tank? My tank faded badly as many of these blue tanks do and I'm not sure if this plastic will hold the paint well. I'm also concerned about sanding this plastic in fear of making it look worse.
