Hi guys back again after a long while . Would anyone have a 199 rear mudguard In ised condition as a new item just would not suit the bike Cheers in advance

  4. Anyone any experience with modern fork internals for classic bikes. Thinking to get the HFS fork internals as I’ve put the OZO/Betor shocks on the rear and want to improve the front end. Are they worth while/money or put new springs in originals. At present they bottom out easily. Running 15w fork oil as recommended to me.

Hey all, I am rebuilding a M49 series one. I bought it in pieces and everything is just about back together but i seem to be missing the washer that sits on the gear shaft seperating it from the side case. I looked in the parts book to confirm there should be one there but dont have sizes. Would anyone have one to measure me the outside diameter, inside hole diameter and thickness? It is the earliest M49 with the oval side cases. Any help appreciated,,, Thanks, Mark G

  8. What is the procedure for adjustment of the clutch on the Matador? Is it like any other where you loosen the locking nut and turn the screw in until resistance and then back off 1/4 turn?

  9. Started by 70sBulRacer,

I’m in the process of rebuilding the Spanish Amal 930 concentric on my 1971 Lobito 175 Mk4. The needle jet is stamped 106A, and that’s what is listed in the owner’s manual as the correct jet. Amal concentrics had long and short needle jets and some jets were for 4 stroke applications, with others being for two strokes. I have seen lots of Amal needle jets for sale that are designated 106, but not 106A. Does anyone know what the difference is? Thanks for any help!

Hey riders, my current project is a very neglected Lobito 175 Mk4 (model 76). After disassembling and inspecting the gearbox, nothing is broken, but the countershaft has a worn area where the sleeve gear bronze bushings contact. I’ll obviously need a new shaft and sleeve gear bushings, but I’ve noticed that some later 5 speeds had two sets of caged needle bearings instead of the bronze bushings for the sleeve gear. Anyone know if it’s possible to retrofit the needle bearing shaft to an earlier gearbox?

  11. Started by Willybul,

Looking for recommendations on what to fit on my exhaust . I have the central silencer which I am re packing but I am missing the "petaca" triangle shaped silencer off the end of my Lobito mk4 exhaust . Has anyone got any advise on a modern alternative that would look good and do the same job . Can't find many for sale and the ones that are are very expensive . Just need an extra silencer as to pass my ITV (spanish MOT) or would just the middle be enough ???
